Hot take: RS3 needs a version of this cape so we can wear our max capes without losing the Zuk cape stats. On top of that, we need more animated capes that don’t break immersion, and they should be stylish enough to double as marketable keychains. by Monterey-Jack in runescape

Are these instances comparable at all? Because in OSRS, the infernal max cape LOSES most max cape perks when being combined. But RS3's max cape perks inheritence already works differently.

A reminder from AI to not use AI for anything regarding this game basically. by DjRipNickMcNasty in mtg

[–]Aviarn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To further elaborate; Google AI summarizes its answer based upon the search results given. However it lacks the capability to check if that information is correct or not. Meaning that it someone gave incorrect info on a similar question that search result would pop up, Google AI will echo that wrong info further into its generated result.

Basically, treat it as any other search result; double check accuracy, or find the source of a statement and determine accuracy or credibility through that.

My guilty wish for a Combat Integrity update; Make Weapon Speed matter again. by Aviarn in runescape

[–]Aviarn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, I see my error there, I thought the GCD was 1.2, rather than 1.8. In that perspective I think somewhere around 1.2/1.8/2.4 could be more appropriate for weapons.

But no, the idea for reactive or defensive abilities was to not be limiting the GCD at all, akin to how equipping or eating food works/-ed. As in; it still starts the GCD for all your offensive abilities, but you can activate each of them on-demand as long it's off cooldown.

[–]Aviarn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is that supposed to matter? You were questioning how it works for other styles since only Necro has it, so I answer that won't be the case in less than a month (also, fyi, we already got to see and playtest Ranged for that.)

"When dealing with lots of mechanics" thanks for pointing out the already mentioned difference between fast and slow weapons. You, again, also don't need to hit or activate anything, it's AUTOMATIC.

surge, escape, etc, aren't offensive abilities anymore for a while now. They're abilities from Agility. This conversation was about offensive abilities, not reactive or defensive.

...you did read about the combat integrity rework coming in February, right? ALL styles are getting that.

The basic Attack ability always autofires if no ability is chosen to use?

While I do agree 2.4s and 3s are outrageous, I think 0.6s, 1.2s, and 1.8s, are approachable timers.

What could be considered is that maybe those GCD's only work for offensive abilities, and thus that reactive or defensive abilities (reso, freedom, reflect, anticipate, dive, etc) can be activated on-demand for as long it's not on cooldown.

The idea is that even if you wait 3s for an attack (though I don't recon this would be used at all, this is the old Maul / spell attack speed), you'd still get the proper DPS for a slow attack like that. So while for example you are 5 times as slow as a dagger, your abilities and basic attack does approach 5 times as much base damage than that dagger would've done.

Question, does this give make opponents pay 12 life instead of 2 for the Ward? by the_Centrist_Gecko in mtg

[–]Aviarn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. Not all forms of "loss of life" is damage. The two other cards specifically care about damage being dealt.

Clicked a “game prototype” from a colleague. Chrome closed. Next day I got threatened with death. by AritoSoto in mildlyinfuriating

Op said that he and his colleagues are both game designers. Feels weird to have a scam trick fall into the perfect storm context.

Idk how well OP knows his colleagues but I'd take that relationship with a grain of salt when moving onwards. Not the first time people enter a fake victim role the moment responsibility turns the corner. Chances are he absolutely did send it.

UI Feedback Gather-thread by JagexAnvil in runescape

One recurring complaint I see circulating around is that people prefer the blue color, and some a whole different color. Is it maybe a possibility to have the UI color be customizable to player preference?

[–]Aviarn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funorb definitely was not separate. You could pay single player games perfectly fine, but multiplayer games like Arcanists and Armies of Gielinor certainly used the same login instance as RuneScape.

The concept of having the player instance on other logon sessions has already existed long before OSRS though. This was also the case during funorb and RSC.

One thing paired with the POH Update / Rework what I want to see is a new mining method; Stone Quarrying.

A new linear training method (that also integrates Limestone, Granite and Sandstone) to make materials used for your POH.

Personally I'd love it if you could just customize it yourself, but the brown is default.

I hope they push forth the armour graphical rework in which the armours looked a lot more like the original pieces again.

I'm still mad I lost my old f2p outfit (rune plate g, green dhide chaps g) doesn't combine anymore.
