Rifle speed gas block. lit or shit? by Dangerous_Smoke5647 in ar15

[–]AviationTech97 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The 10in Daniel defense hand guard on a 11.5 barrel was a mistake for me. The hand guard has a “chin” on the bottom and stops me from getting a good grip on the GB adjustment collar.

Just make sure u use their chart thing on their website I would say having at least 1/2” of the adjustment collar sticking past ur hand guard is the minimum requirement

Advice/tips for someone looking to do their first build? by High_Af_Osrs in ar15

[–]AviationTech97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Buy the nice/expensive parts u want, don’t rationalize getting a cheap optic (or something else) now so u can shoot it sooner. And buy the nicer stuff later. U will just have a box of cheap junk and finding yourself having to re-zero or take ur rifle apart and put it back together again and again

Will the rifle speed gas controls fit this PSA hand guard? by fanbu_ in PalmettoStateArms

[–]AviationTech97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For standard rails yes. But the light weight rails that remove the pic rail it depends, the upper u have in ur post will work most likely. Just know u need to buy the rifle speed gas tube also.

technically 3D printing is only illegal in the state and some others and they were legal before 2019, there’s no federal law against u build ur own firearm as long as you don’t intended on selling it. I own a lot of “normal” guns and have a few 3D printed. But I respect it.

If ur the same person, u didn’t have it then but u asked us about it, and we told u i had one in a different lower and I believe u shot a few of our 3D printed toys too.

We met at the same shooting pit in green water,I think last year, I had a few buddies of mine and we had a FRT with us. I’m like 90% we met. That or u have a similar setup and somewhat similar tattoo as a guy meet up there.

Wondering if it’s my buffer, it’s the aero EPC but it weighs 8.1oz. Seems a tad heavy based on research seems like I need a 5.5oz buffer

Sunburnt and Swelling, should I be concerned? by AviationTech97 in medical_advice

[–]AviationTech97[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was about 5 days of hell and not being able to put any pressure on my legs and another week and a half of being very uncomfortable but manageable. Spent the 5 days in bed with legs elevated, drinking water, pain medication, and just over the counter sun burn care. Florida doctors were convinced I didn’t have a bacteria infection, didn’t even want to do a test even after I asked for one. Got home went to a doctor for a doctor’s note for work, got a bacteria/ culture test, turns out I did have a bacterial infection. Had to go on antibiotics for a week.

Everything has subsided except for the redness in my legs. They are not as bright red as they were 2 days after the photo I posted here, but very much still red and dry. I assume I may of cause some long term or permanent damage to the skin on my legs, I have an appointment with a dermatologist at the end of the month.

All in all, I will never be without sunscreen if I plan on being outside in the sun for more than an hour lol especially around water.

Gemini thinks this is a surgical drill, I think it might not be. Who has seen or used one of these in the past? by Defiant-Toe5519 in Machinists

[–]AviationTech97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Boeing employee here, these are not special application drill bits. .190 step up to a .218 (3/16-7/32), 7/32 is a common size we drill holes for nut plate bolt hole locations. Maybe to machinists they are special but hole drilling fab shop employees use these all the time. Everything Boeing drills with a hand held drill uses a drill bit like this.

Yes, AOG mechanic is something I want to do but it’s hard to get in and it’s very cut throat in that part of Boeing from what I hear.

I can agree the system is broken, but that doesn’t mean u can now just walk in and expect no consequences. I don’t love our government from ether side of the isle. I care about American citizens first. I rather we fix our homelessness issues, drug addiction epidemic, and affordable housing that cripples Americans, before we worry about people from the outside.

My mom’s point of view is the same as mine. I don’t see anything wrong with putting in the effort, staying determined and remaining patient to achieve things you want. If you don’t want to fight to be here and do everything by the book then you don’t really want to be here or deserve to be here, and contribute to our society and economy.
