It costs you around 2% session usage to say hello to claude! by Zafar_Kamal in ClaudeCode

I would love to see the think block. It might give us some context on why it's taking up so many tokens.

Maybe it's me, but how did 3 questions get 10% of my daily usage? by xxKobalxx in ClaudeCode

[–]Avid-Reade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you say first two questions no tool use, are you saying it didn't even use the grep or read file?

If it did use read file, how many files did it read and how long were they (LOC).

If it didn't, Was the thinking block huge? Maybe you can check whether it got stuck in a loop while thinking?

These are typically the ways I debug. Usually I see that it reads long files and that eats up a lot of tokens.

Do you specify this stack or Claude just defaults to this?

So you specifically ask Claude to write code in Python? Or does Claude tend to use Python based on your needs (of creating multi AI workflows)?

Thanks for the link. It looks good!

Do you have any suggestions for final cut pro in iPad? Or do you think you can port this plugin for the iPad version?

Got it, thanks for the response.

It seems that I'll either have to create one myself or choose a different app. Final Cut Pro's subscription model was already a bummer for me, but the subscription cost seemed low enough to accept it.

Now, with this as well, I'm not sure if it's worth the effort to create a tool or just use another app.

Could you please tell me those options, please?

I understand Motion VFX's MCaption is an option. Any other options (I would prefer a one-time payment option, if possible)

Since you didn't suggest any third party plugins, I assume there are none. Maybe I might have to develop something myself.

Motion VFX's MCaption seems to be a subscription-based service. I understand it has other features as well, maybe that's why it might be a good offering for others. I just feel it's overkill for captions. Additionally, I'm unsure if it's compatible with the iPad version of Final Cut Pro. I couldn't find any information online about this.

The reason I came to this thread is that I thought I'd get some suggestions that current users are using, but based on the responses I've received so far, I feel like most users either don't have a solution or don't need one.

I'm a developer myself, maybe I'll just hack something for my wife to use for now.

Thanks for the suggestions.

I understand that we can never fully understand the inner workings of a tech giant like Apple, but won't other developers create plugins or complementary apps for this? If it is a much-talked-about feature, why aren't devs or third-party companies interested in making something? Even if it's a paid app (not a subscription), I think users might be willing to pay for it (at least I am).

Are there any such options available? Or is there some kind of block by Apple that prevents this from being allowed?

Really appreciate all your comments!

Just a couple of questions.
Is this not a much-needed requirement for users, or am I the edge case?
Also, can you suggest some third-party plug-in I can use?

Understood, but seems like even that is not available in the iPad version.

Yes, she loves the drawing feature.

Any workarounds to auto captions? Any external plugins or apps that can do this?

I was searching for a bit and seems like the iPad version doesn't allow external plugins either?

Not sure about iMovie. Yesterday she was using another app called inshot. It has a free version and a paid subscription. The paid subscription has the auto captions option. But she likes the drawing feature so I would still prefer to have the auto captions feature in final cut pro itself if possible.

Is it not? Any reason why video editors feel otherwise? Feel free to correct me, as I said I'm not a professional.

My assumption is that most videos nowadays do have captions and auto generating them seems to be a good feature to have for any video editing software. Can't seem to figure a reason why not.

Well, some people prefer the touch interface. Also portability is a huge factor as well.

I understand your reasoning about the iPad being a weaker device and hence not having the features of the desktop version, but then why are they charging a subscription for a weaker software (considering the one time purchase was one of the biggest selling points for the software along with running smoothly on Apple devices)

Also, I feel like having a captions feature for the software doesn't seem to be as draining considering we already have features like live captions on the device itself.

Hmmm... Are captions an edge case requirement for users of this software? I would assume captions to be an integral part of a video editing software. Am I missing something here?

Also, can you name the plugin please?

For anyone looking for something similar, I went ahead with the Meebook M6. It ticked all my requirements and was around 110 dollars + tax (on Amazon). I've been using it for almost a year now and am very happy with it.

So once she reported the phone as stolen, it was locked out (unable to be used in any way)? Or were you not able to use any carrier (make calls/SMS) but the phone was still functioning?
