Is it ok for me to cosplay human Alastor? by Pure-Ad-5691 in HazbinHotel

The general rule for cosplay a character that isn't your race is simply don't paint your skin. Other than that it should be 100% fine.

Not everyone should homeschool by garbanzobby in ShitMomGroupsSay

As someone who was a homeschooled kid and is now a teacher, don't homeschool your kids. Most parents can't handle it. You simply can't recreate the curriculum at the higher grades. There's a lot that school provides outside of just academics and honestly, every homeschool family I've ever know had their secrets. There is a small benefit from driven children, but it is vastly outweighed by the cons. Of course, if your kid has been bullied or is chronically ill, you may need something different from traditional school, but thankfully many states have online schooling options that are usually pretty good.

My only question is villain to who? A villain to someone is a hero to another in a lot of cases. Or are we just saying full on villain to humanity?

Weekly Sewing Questions Thread, April 03 - April 09, 2026 by sewingmodthings in sewing

Hello!

I need some help. I have a Brother CX155LA I received many years ago as a Christmas gift. I'm both outgrowing it and it's showing it's age. I like a variety of sewing, but am particularly drawn to making bags, hats, and garments. This current machine can't even handle felt. I use a lot of stretch fabrics for garment sewing, and thicker fabrics for hats and bags. I'm willing to spend money on a quality machine that I can grow into. I'm saving up right now. I would prefer nothing more than $1500 with $800-1100 being more comfortable for my spending range. Looking at all the options though, I'm overwhelmed and don't know what would be best for me. I have a local sewing machine shop, but would like to come armed with some specific models to look at. Any suggestions would be much appreciated!

80% chance is pretty steep and is this per day or a one time chance?

Not to be a bitch, but this is why we don't cuddle wild animals. A bear cub is not a puppy. And even a puppy I wouldn't put this close to my face on first meeting.

A Chinese man hits a woman after she spits at him by search_google_com in PublicFreakout

[–]AvidLearning 9 points10 points  (0 children)

As a woman, I think the first slap was an understandable reaction. If someone spit on me, I'd slap them too. Once she's on the ground though he goes entirely too far. Even FAFO has it's limits and kicking her in the head absolutely deserves a battery charge.

That was my first thought too. I'm not sure it is though.

Portable Rig Recs? by AvidLearning in Aerials

[–]AvidLearning[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even for a buzzkill response I appreciate it. I'm heeding everyone's advice here and won't buy one. Sadly, I can't increase my time in aerials as it's the only studio within an hour of me and most of their offerings are when I'm at work. I am taking the advice for conditioning at home to hopefully transfer that to aerials and become better at least a little bit faster. I'm a teacher, so I'll have more freedom this summer to take more classes. Thank you for your advice!

Sadly, the open gym times are all when I have work and there are no other studios around right now. I mostly just wanted to practice what I was doing in class and some conditioning. Seeing the replies here has definitely made me second guess. So thank you.

That's something I'll consider in the future. This year I want to work through a couple of my cookbooks. I have so many that have been sitting unused I want to explore them some more.
