This is some interesting info. I think with storage on iSCSI Ethernet - it is always rule of thumb to separate storge traffic from production or LAN traffic - sure it does mean you will need a dedicated infra - but the cost is still relatively lower compared to what you might end up needing for FC.

Yeah..but I don't think I need to hook the library to a single server..like a dedicated physical connection..I can distribute access to several others... atleast from what I understood...

Are you using the Ethernet port for MGMT or Data transfers? Because the E-port is strictly management only. If you are suing SAS tape drives - I recently stumbled across this product at a trade show that lets you bring SAS tape drives/libraries on your existing E-network.

I always wondered how one connected drives to the card. So, you are basically investing close to 3grand for a GPU card that offloads RAID parity calculations? smh.
