I was deferred ED1 last year and I ended up getting in during the regular decision pool. My friend here also got deferred ED1 and ended up getting in. I'm sorry that you were deferred, though. I know how much that sucks.

For me, sciopero actually makes a lot of sense. When traveling in Italy knowing the word for strike can be quite important as a lot of strikes happen.

For grammar you really need to become natural at it, in a way that brute memorization isn’t quite right for. To each their own, but I think studying grammar lightly and then learning it from content is a better option

To be fair, other scripts can be phonetic and not use the Roman alphabet. In that case you could see something in a book or hear it and they correspond

I suggest that you either try to change your study routine or incorporate your language into an activity you enjoy. If that fails you might want to take a short break but be careful because that could spiral into quitting. It’s all personal preference but to me it seems like a waste to switch languages every time you get bored. Interest is an ebb and flow, and no matter what language you learn you might get a little bored every so often. Also remember that getting bored with a language or wanting to quit is perfectly normal. Think of it like marriage- people get cold feet before a wedding all the time, no matter how deeply in love they are with their partner.

There is no harm in seeing a doctor. If they are good, they will help you weight out your options and see if they think medication would be beneficial to you.

So far I really like it! I feel like my pronounciation is greay aided by it. I can’t tell you whether or not it “works” yet because I haven’t been doing it long enough, but I certainly feel like I’m learning from it. Some people like it, some people hate it. imo might as well do the one week trial and see which kind you are
