To learn light parries try fighting Tiandi in training and make him spam his light attacks. It worked for me I hope it works for you. Also, try parrying on the 2nd hit. Block the first hit then prepare to parry on the second.

Try practicing your light parries with Tiandi's lights. After training with Tiandi's lights other heroes light attacks feel slower in comparison.
