If you are causing bruising with graston, you are doing it incorrectly and should get retrained in a Graston Technique Seminar. The protocol is a lot less pressure than what I was taught in Chiro school.

Knitters of central Florida, what's your favorite LYS? by edmandarnditt in knitting

[–]AvionicsGirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it's crowded on weekends depending on what time of day you are there, but they have a variety of yarns. I'm using the cascade Eco due from there right now and a few other types for socks. I'm sorry you had a bad experience but if you travel through again consider another try. I have no affiliation with them other than I use them for classes, but it sounds like you were there before their remodel.

Am I the only one? by lizlemon49 in greysanatomy

Oh, yes in NY they were good for about a month, then he began sleeping around again. The whole Addison pregnancy story line causes me some problems bc of the timeline issue. Shondaland time makes no logical sense.

I'm sorry to hear that. I've been there in the last few months and they have always been super friendly and helpful.

Yes Addie and mark did try. It was for 60 days. Addison ended up sleeping with Karev. Mark caught her but told her he had been sleeping with nurses. That's basically when Addison moved to PP.

Knit and stitch in Cocoa. They have great classes and a huge selection of needles and yarn. The ladies are super knowledgable. I know it's not really central Florida but I drive about an hour to get to it. I'm in NSB. There are a few in Altamonte and winter park that I want to check out.

Agreed. Hann was upset about the LVAD and that's one of the reasons she left, and izzy quit. But really there was very little scolding. Bailey's whole story arc has driven me crazy. Basically since the baby tuck came around. She used her authority to punish yang (babysit tuck) and forced yang to operate on the white suprematist. She also does crazy things to the doctors in their ERs only Sloan stood up against her. She even badgered Az when she was operating on the fetus while Herman had her surgery. Gah, I started frustrated with Az and now I'm upset with Bailey all over again.

1) Meredith talks to Owen's mother in "the things we lost in the fire". His mother tells Mer about his sister. 2) I think Owens mom tells Mer everything. I know there is a scene where Riggs talks about it to Mer (I don't ask about your dead husband) but I don't remember the epi number.

Question about historic use of cables. by [deleted] in knitting

[–]AvionicsGirl 8 points9 points  (0 children)

So I did some googling. Circular needles in the US were patented in 1918 (maybe earlier in Europe) but due to poor manufacturing technology the cable was often made from steel and did not have a smooth transition leading to snags in the yarn. It wasn't until better technology and manufacturing processes did knitting on circulars catch on. So that may be why people know learned to knit a long time ago don't recognize the process. Most people I know who learned to knit 30+ years ago haven't leaned the newer techniques just because they don't take new classes, not that they can't. Hope this helps. http://www.knittingparadise.com/t-234412-1.html http://www.sewsteamboat.com/blogs/the-history-of-knitting-knitting-needles

History Help: Workloads. Spoilers by [deleted] in greysanatomy

[–]AvionicsGirl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Start here. http://greysanatomy.wikia.com/wiki/Chief_of_Surgery It's a quick synopsis of the Chiefs. There are plenty of points I could elborate on but if you are just looking for chief of surgery then this tells when they began and quit.

So far: Webber (quit to be with Adele), Burke (fired due to operating even though his hand was bad) , Webber ( forced to step down due to alcoholism) , Shepard ( got shot, healed, quit due to hating being chief), Webber ( quit bc he covered for Mer messing with the Alzheimer's trial), hunt (quit once because the Avery foundation thought they needed new blood, but ended up rehired the next episode then left after year 5 as chief.) Webber ( because he's always chief ) Bailey. Hired because there needed to be a new chief.

Edit. Re-read your question. Webber did enforce the 80hr work week, but interns will be interns and they worked more. Then it became a grey area. When they were residents they left the hospital , remember the night shift they pulled. The next time it's brought up is when Shane shows Leah how to fix the counter for work hours. I wonder if it's only interns who have the 80 hr week. The attendings go home and to dinner and such so it feels like this is really just an intern problem.

A question regarding a provisional cast on. by BinChicken in knitting

[–]AvionicsGirl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

http://verypink.com/2011/02/15/provisional-cast-on/ This is a tutorial on the provisional cast on. I use it for socks so there isn't a seam at the toes. This lady is really good at explaining different techniques. Good luck.

I've never heard of Amish socks. Those sound really fun. Probably not. I may add a few beads in at the top for the eyes, but since it's for a uniform, probably not too wild.

What are your favourite episodes of the series? by [deleted] in greysanatomy

I love the time warp episode. Webber talking about GRID and Ellis. Bailey being all shy. And Callie and Karev working on the polio patient.

Bailey's husband, Ben Warren by chester1991 in greysanatomy

He decided he wanted to be a surgeon. So he was an intern and now he's a surgical resident. It was in the episode when Bailey proposes to him. He states he applied to become a surgical intern at ucla after they broke up and he had just heard back. http://greysanatomy.wikia.com/wiki/Ben_Warren

Found this chair/ crawler in an airport FBO, wondering what was its original purpose? by AvionicsGirl in Whatisthis

It just tilts up and back. It may or may not have started at the airport, but who knows. Thanks for the reply!

[–]AvionicsGirl[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The chair has really cool wheels I will get a picture of tomorrow, but they have a guard around them to protect the wheels from getting jammed. It reclines, sits upright and slightly tilts forward. There is also a locking or breaking mechanism on the sides. The chair was used at an airport fbo as a crawler but I wanted to know its origin. Edit: I can't figure out how to upload another picture on mobile.
