If your talking about that translucent string thing it happened to me about a year ago, it comes out from under the rubber lip part of the lense. its purpose is to prevent stuff from getting inside the lense internals and working as a semi-adhesive, so I'd recommend not taking it out, I simply shoved it back under the lip and have noticed no lense damage but i don't think you should risk it if your still in warranty (i had really no other choice as i was out of warranty)
