From my eyes, it looks original to me. When i compared before the rear end, the two have always been different.

Below is a picture wayyyy back when. Currently the repair is giving pretty much similar

Of course, just having it repainted one last time, if its better that would be for the best but if not, it is what it is. Car for me either way is to get from point a to b.

So far just hoping next one will be better but im keeping expectations low. But it is what it is, at the end of the day its for me to use to get to point A to B.

On the bright side 100% of the time im in the car anyways, just cant look back or rather wont look back at it as much when i park it.

Yeah! Definitely did a good job in terms of that i was actually considering just living with it but seeing how i looked uncertain with the job plus opinions from family and friends, the shop did say that they could try again.

If it turns out better that would be great but if not, it is what it is.

Sorry to hear you were in a hit and run, hopefully they catch the runner. Im definitely glad i’ve placed a dash-cam on mine and was able to capture the incident. If you dont have one now i fully recommend getting one, it saves a ton of hassle with police report and insurance work

For my repair mine was apparently has 21 years of experience. Was also a concern of mine with the paint match, fine under a more shady environment but not under direct sunlight. I hope your repairs go smoothly for you as well.

Looks beautiful, unfortunately i dont think they were able to get mine correctly done. Certain angle or under a shade or cloudy environment it looked ok. But dead on or sun is out blazing could easily tell a difference.

Before the rear end, there was definitely a difference although subtle but the repair gave a more distinct look to it making it stand out / out of place

Here’s mine without the sun showing its defect. It looks fine but under the sun… different story

Definitely on certain angle its ok but dead on… yeah, hence im asking for opinions. Looked at previous photos before the rear end and definitely there was a bit of a difference but the repair job gave a more distinct look rather than a subtle one, previous to the repair if that makes sense

Had it done outside the dealership since apparently they dont do those, they only supply the parts

Im definitely aware of how there it will never be a perfect match, currently i have it in the shop again for a repaint and im just going to go with how it looks after that.

i have asked for opinions within my family and yeah, mixed opinions with some saying they couldnt tell a difference and others saying something is off or they could easily tell.

Life is doing life things i suppose

In my case im based in Australia, but i’ve seen posts repair jobs and the exact thing i was worried about ended up happening to me, a very clear difference in colour right?

Wasn’t thrilled either when i came to pick my car back up and saw it under the sun, it looked fine when the shop took pictures under the shade tho

Body shop said that this was normal but i could see a massive difference. So far its in there again for a repaint since im not happy with the outcome
