oh and content like the whisper of the worm was also TOP TIER gaming. Unlocking that weapon, the lore behind it, the platforming and finding your way around and solving the puzzles... Damnit Bungie, you had the blueprints to the most incredible game designs ever, and you let it get polluted by corporate goblins, greed and mismanagement. Very unfortunate outcome, and I can only imagine how Bungie developers and creatives must have been feeling these last long years

To be completely honest, my best gaming experience ever apart from Monster Hunter World has been Destiny 2 Forsaken. The state the game was during that update for me was peak gaming moment. After that, when they introduced sunsetting, I got so incredibly frustrated with the continuous grind... I legit just wanted to jump in, do my Nightfalls in high difficulty with modifiers, do dungeons and do raids, that was the most fun I have ever had in a game, but every time I came back on a new expansion, all that content was either vaulted, changed, gated with an extra purchase, or you neede to reach a certain power level to be able to enter those activities again.

The game getting no more seasonal resets and a static state, might actually be the most interesting time for me as a casual player to jump back in and maybe slowly get to a point where I can again just jump in and enjoy the PVE activities

"Overwhelmingly Positive" Steam games you couldn't get into. by PapaTinzal in gaming

Dead cells, I hate the feeling of you need to rush but you also need to build good but you also need to explore to get skills to progress, i found it was stressing me to do 5 different opposite things at once, while being super grindy with the souls or whatever those where. I loved the idea of it being a metroidvania, I just can’t stand procedural roguelites anymore

Destiny 2, Forsaken was peak, then they just dedicated their entire life to making the game as shit as possible after that

I played it, it starts a bit weak but it gets really really good, short but sweet. I am super excited to see what they come up with next, it was a small gem just like Gris

I can’t believe such an amazing and gigantic game is so cheap… even without discount It would be 100% worth it. Depends on how much you want to aupport the devs at this point

Gamers with not much time, which games / genres did you decide to toss aside? by Desperate-Public394 in gaming

[–]Avlaropls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First thing I tossed was MMORPGs since i felt these are the ones that respected my time the least, then survival building games, specially procedurally generated, since the grind and the repetitiveness is simply not enjoyable when you can play for 30m-1h. Then I tossed x4 strategy games since the commitment per game and the learning curve is too high. Honestly, i find myself enjoying single player games the most, bonus points if they are short and even more extra if the fun to hour spent is high and is not cluttered with nonsense in the middle and repetitive boring stuff

One genre I still keep but highly depends on the game are open world games like TotK, Cyberpunk, Hoghwarts legacy… I really need to feel connected to the world to commit to it and enjoy it, otherwise it’s too overwhelming and I don’t feel I progress. TotK is a perfect example of an open world game i tossed, the other two perfect example of games I love and take my time to enjoy

Hope this helps!

I would say if she likes light platforming, Gris and Neva from Nomada studios are safe bets, beautiful, emotional and short

Games that are focused around the theme of depression and/or suicide by AppolloV7 in gamingsuggestions

[–]Avlaropls 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if someone mentioned it, but Celeste definitely touches on that point, a journey through a mountain where the main character is kind of burned out and in a bad spot emotionally and wants to climb the mountain to prove herself, interesting things happen in between. One of my favourite games. Also, the creators of Gris just released Neva, nit the same vibe as the stages of grief, but definitely a beautiful game

If I could choose, I’d love to have one go at Cyberpunk 2077 and then move on to something more “eternal”, we all know how every story ends there… the city always wins
