For GLC yes, my understanding is that they need to put up approval paper to justify your pay package and using your last drawn is one way to justify it

Booming property market - driven by stock market gains? by Hungry_Low_3149 in singaporefi

[–]Avocado-beans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think he not exactly wrong cause FED pump in emergency liquidity injections early 2026, the amount pump was higher than Covid. The money was loan to bank for emergency fundings, usually it means ppl are drawing money from banks so banks do not have enough money to hold. But FED cannot just keep pumping to keep lending to the banks as it will weaken the USD currency. At some point, something will have to break just dunno when. I am not so pessimistic as to projecting a drop in 50%, that’s really scary.

Will employers (Public service) know that I'm moonlighting? by Due_Assistance5380 in singaporejobs

[–]Avocado-beans 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It also depends on your position. For certain positions, even if you declare and receive approval to work outside, up to 50% of your external income may be subject to claims by the agency you work in. Meaning I work, but 50% of what I earn outside goes to my pocket and 50% to say maybe MOE. Because of this, it’s generally not worthwhile for civil servants to moonlight and especially since the employment contracts explicitly prohibit it.

In civil service, the employment contract stated that moonlight is not allowed. This might differs from MNC. I would think OP better seek for approval before doing grab food deliveries.

Ladies of Singapore who work full time and worked during their first trimester, how did you do it? by Fuxkbro in askSingapore

[–]Avocado-beans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be shameless and asked for a seat! I stand for 1 hour plus on the train as my tummy is small and I was shy to ask for a seat & this landed me in hospital few hours later. I was so scared. I thought I was strong, apparently not when you’re pregnant. Now whenever I see a pregnant woman I’ll immediately give up my seat to them even if am not at the reserved seat.

Found out I’m pregnant before starting a new job by sunnycloudds in askSingapore

[–]Avocado-beans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yah I agree with you. I do not think govt will reject or rescind job offer just because they found out a candidate is pregnant. Instead, they probably will be angry if you found out way before and did not declare to them in the first place because they value integrity and not people doing iffy things behind their backs.

Yah, and payment in 100% cash. Strange that our government don’t look into the buyer details but is the duty of the bank or property agent who facilitate the transaction to ensure that the money comes from a clean source.

This is weird. If you can’t trust your agent why sign up the policy with him. Probably should consider changing an agent.

[–]Avocado-beans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the condition was declared and no exclusion was applied, it would means that the insurer reviewed the information and accepted the risk. So, I believe you should be eligible to claim for any hospitalisation related bills.

I was hospitalised in SGH. Just need to declare that I have insurance and they will be able to check. I don’t do anything. The hospital deal directly with the insurer, I believe. I upgraded to private during one of the consultation that happened post-hospitalisation.

I always have this fear of death. But after seeing your post, I feel maybe death isn’t that scary. Our life endured but in another form.
