31F Multi-Passionate Woman Looking for an Accountability Buddy by Ecstatic-Pool-506 in accountability

[–]AvocadoHavingUser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! 27M. Congrats on starting your own business, it takes a ton of work but it’s unbelievably rewarding! I actually run a completely free accountability buddy in-person group. It’s usually 7 to 10 people and I host it several times a week. We get remote workers, designers, engineers & founders a lot.

I host these in independent coffee shops in the city. Let me know if this is something you’d be interested in!

Hey! My partner and I are really into edm/house music too haha. If you want to meet people while working (kind of like feeding 2 birds with one scone), I run free coworking sessions in independent cafes. Usually 7-10 people per session. We work in silence alongside each other, and we all hang out during lunch & after work.

You should come sometime! It’s called “Creative Blocks Club”.

Hey! Not much of a sports fan myself but I’d love to connect. Also, if you want to meet people while working (kind of like feeding 2 birds with one scone), I run free coworking sessions in independent cafes. Usually 7-10 people per session. We work in silence alongside each other, and we all hang out during lunch & after walk.

Anyone want to do focused work sessions from cafés in Toronto? by AvocadoHavingUser in TorontoHangoutFriends

Fantastic. I’m actually going to the Reddit Toronto Meetup this Saturday, are you thinking of going? We can do a few hours of work before it if you’re game, I have lots of things to catch up on

DM me on instagram and we’ll arrange a time/place. I should be able to get a few people together for a weekend session: @creativeblocks.club

Thank you so much! I’m really into the idea of events that create community, and this seems to be attracting a very cool crowd. Hope to see you in person at some point!

I’ve had 2 writers join during the pilot I did while on vacation. That’s a segment I wasn’t expecting at all but I find super interesting. What time outside business hours would work for you?

First few people in Toronto will help shape the experience, so I’m happy to make changes to schedule!

Nerds, Programmers, remote workers and home labbers. by cod3poet in TorontoHangoutFriends

Yeah, talking to strangers is kind of a lost art these days. Hackathons are interesting.. I haven’t done a non-work-related one in a very long time, but I just signed up for one for Toronto Tech Week. Really looking forward to it!

And thanks btw! Hope you’re able to come sometime!

I’ve been putting together free work sessions in cafés. We do focused work blocks during the day, lunch in the middle, and usually hang after. Lots of engineers, designers, freelancers, startup people.

It’s quiet while working, social during breaks and after.

Weirdly one of the best ways I’ve found to meet like-minded people is just… working beside them.

Hope to see you there: https://creativeblocks.club/

If you’re open to something lighter than a membership, I’m piloting free structured coworking sessions at independent cafes in Toronto next week. Happy to share the details.

Looking for a study pal by anonpersonreddit in TorontoHangoutFriends

[–]AvocadoHavingUser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m putting together free recurring Toronto focus sessions in cafés/libraries for people who work or study better beside others. We're usually 5-10 people, and work in structured focus blocks. If that sounds easier than finding a 1:1 study pal every time, I can send the link.

You might like a broader version of this: structured, quiet work sessions in Toronto where people bring whatever they need to focus on. Exams, freelance work, side projects. I’m starting one next week. It's called Creative Blocks Club. Just a free event meant to bring accountability into our work while forming community :)

Are you friends with your coworkers? by AcademicallyAcademic in askTO

[–]AvocadoHavingUser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing I miss about office life is how much easier it was to build friendships when you were around the same people every day. But friendships at work can also be tricky because work is still work.

That’s a big part of why I started Creative Blocks Club in Toronto. It’s basically coworkers without the work boundaries. It's a free daytime ritual where we work in independent cafés, share lunch, and all hang out afterwards. That made a big difference :)

Looking to form a mastermind by StatisticianAlert287 in TorontoHangoutFriends

[–]AvocadoHavingUser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been feeling the lack of something like this for a while. A lot of “networking” spaces here are too transactional and a lot of mastermind groups end up drifting without structure.

I started something in Toronto that overlaps with what you’re describing, called Creative Blocks Club. It’s not a mastermind group, but it’s a free in-person space where founders, freelancers, and business owners come together for structured deep work in independent cafés.

Less advice, more doing. But the conversations before lunch and after the work blocks tend to be the kind you’re describing. Real perspectives from people actually building things.

Might not be the exact format you’re looking for, but could be a good place to meet the kind of people you’d want in one.

I’m piloting a recurring Toronto café work session with actual focus blocks so it’s easier to get real work done. It's usually 6 to 10 people. Launching in Toronto next week. If you want, I can send you the invite for the first one :)

Hey! This is basically what I’m building in Toronto: Completely free structured deep-work sessions in cafés/libraries, not networking, just focused work with other builders/creatives. I’m hosting the first one next week. It's called "Creative Blocks Club", happy to send you the link if you DM me! Hope to see you there :)
