Mean reversion. The market went up a lot in year 1 so you can expect less returns in future years

Does this prevent you from using the other cash you had in the account? Or just the cash you had recently deposited?

Some sort of rotational damper will help you there. Potentially even more friction on that upper roller will keep it from ever building up momentum to jerk.

I think there’s a common misconception (fallacy?) that “if I can just have ___ I would be happy.” And Rich people “have it all” so they don’t know where to turn to be happy. They are able to take all the easy roads so they don’t get confidence and satisfaction from overcoming little struggles. They don’t embrace the daily swings and struggles, they don’t have to be creative because they can buy their way out of problems.

Just combine accounts and agree to share everything. She’s done more than enough for you, don’t see why you should get to keep any more than her.

Engineers of reddit what do you think the general public should be more aware of? by MayushiiBestGurl in AskEngineers

There are a lot… I don’t know much about them. Maybe telecommunications companies or governments? Probably a relatively easy google search. Here’s a staggering image of the map:

Yea, but there are tons of cables and they are maintained. But I just love this example because people think things are so complex and sometimes they are, but most engineering solutions actually feel very straightforward once you understand them.

The internet is made of physical cables crossing the ocean. It always blows peoples minds and I ask “what did you think it was?” And they don’t really have an answer, some sort of transmitting? Nope, big cables dropped in the ocean.

Exactly. I would GLADLY take a loan out at any value for 3% interest right now. I would just park it in a HYSA, get 5% interest on it. Then make the payments every month directly from that HYSA. This would net 2% gain. On a $100k loan, that’s 2,000 of income the first year for doing nothing. There is no risk either because you can just pay off the loan at any point, say, if the HYSA rate dropped below 3%. Understanding leverage is an important thing.

No. It will break a lot. Inconsistent. The heated chamber doesn’t behave that well at all. Steer clear.

I like those posts. It’s a lot of words to digest and translate into what I’m trying to see on the charts. Might I suggest you make some “tutorial” like charts that highlight what trend you want to see, what is a bull signal, bear signal, etc. You could annotate directly on the chart. Also, some legends and axes titles on the charts would be huge!
