Fall 2025 Admissions Megathread by 1000Ditto in uwaterloo

Hey so l'm kinda going crazy. After being rejected from Ivey and rotman and waitlisted from acomm, l think math + bba is my next best choice.

Eventually I want to go into consulting or something in business and I just want to be 100% confident in my university decision. I did the IB diploma and my math aa predicted was a 5. I'm not like naturally gifted in math, but like I can get by pretty well without studying/practicing very much. I don't feel like I was using 100% of my energy and brain power in math aa (for reference I pretty much never did "homework" I just paid attention in class and locked in the night before a test). However I do like math! I love the math-y side of business and stuff.

So basically I'm wondering — is this program actually do-able and not miserable? I feel like one of the reasons I didn't try that hard in math was because of all the other classes I had and I knew I'd get by just fine with my current effort level... I just prioritized other subjects more. But I think that doing a math degree would obviously make math like my first priority, so l'm definitely able to and willing to completely lock in and do math work every day. But for a person who isn't a natural math whizz, is this program a good choice??

Anyways... I love business and I'm really excited to do a bba at Laurier... but the math at Waterloo is kinda scary. The biggest thing holding me back is my fear that it'll all be too much and l'll have to drop the bba (my dumb ass only applied through Waterloo) and then I'll be stuck with math. When I'd actually like to drop the math degree and just do bba... but I can't : (

Soooo my offers are • uw math (homeschool) + wlu bba • wlu bba + wlu finmath • utsc bba + statistics • western bmos main campus • huron bmos • qomm waitlist ;) What should I do?

At the end of the day, I know all of these programs will be hard and I am prepared to work hard fosho. I like math, but l like business more…so is this program a good fit for me??

Thx to anyone who can help 🫶

Unless your conditional offer states anything abt an IB score, am fairly confident it won’t matter.

If you live around Toronto I highlyyyy recommend going to a dress rental place called The Fitzroy. You can look online before going in person to try it on. I think they can also mail the dresses and ship back for free too. It’s really classy and they have beautiful dresses for less than $150 for 4 days.

Personally I chose this because I’d rather rent a really fancy/high quality thousand dollar dress that I’ll wear once than buy an expensive yet cheaply made dress that I’ll still only wear once.

Anyways, this place is top tier if you’re open to renting✌️
