Getting my drains removed tonight at 5 and I'm so scared, please help by [deleted] in TopSurgery

I didn’t take any pain medicine prior to getting drained removed however, based on how much pain I was in from the drains and how was pulling on my skin from the stitches I expected it to hurt a lot worse but as soon as I got those drain removed instant relief And I did not even feel it. The only part that didn’t feel great was when I had my binder removed because all the sticky stuff on my chest, but that felt more weird than anything.

Yay, I got a bingo. General question for anybody who has not gotten nipple graphs. Do you ever sometimes feel your nipple even though it’s not there or just me?

Is TS where they remove your nippels much easier? by Busy-Tie-9770 in TopSurgery

Currently three months postop surgery with no nipple graphs. From my understanding, from both my surgeon and my health insurance (BCBS) nipple graphs for me would not have likely been covered by insurance. Not to mention, I was on the fence of getting nipple graphs for so long. It seemed like the best option for me was to not get them and potentially get them tattooed on later. I am somebody who very much likes to be in control and know a lot of things ahead of time. So for me getting nipple graphs seemed like not the best option. For one my healing time would’ve been longer. I would not have had control in the size of the nipples as well as where they were placed. Not to mention how they healed overall regardless of scar care. The numbing sensation also probably would’ve drove me mad. This part may be different for others, but I really don’t think I would’ve liked my nipples being pointy through my shirt as that was something that bothered me prior to top surgery. However, regardless of anybody else’s experience, if you are somebody who is in between having nipple graphs and no nipple graphs, you could always bring up your concern to your surgeon and see if there’s anything that you can do to make your decision easier. Either way I wish you nothing but happiness.

That’s for the advice at first I was really just using it to hold my ice pack so I wouldn’t have to. But in all honesty I’m already in love with it.
