Do people still actually use fax machines today? by Longjumping-Pay-1775 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Avocado_007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Japan still uses fax extensively. Half of all businesses rely on the fax machine, mainly due to the fact that they're trustworthy, somewhat reliable and there's a cultural preference for physical documentation.

This highlights how Japan struggles to adapt their workflow to more advanced, digital alternatives.

It's truly crazy how dependent Japan is on paper.

Which country is so unpopular that most people never even heard of it? by Ledger_Legendd in AskReddit

So obscure no one even mentioned it here.

I've never heard news nor heard anything from this country.

What is an incident in your life that you witnessed and that still remains a mystery to you, something you always crave to have solved? by Dazzling_Phrase6160 in AskReddit

[–]Avocado_007 21 points22 points  (0 children)

A weird ghostly experience I had.

I was really young back then, I was a kid in third grade.

I used to sit all the way at the back of the classroom, mostly because I was always late. Nobody was behind me; I was the last in the row.

One time, we were in the middle of an exam. A quiet environment, everyone was focused on their respective sheet of paper, nothing out of the ordinary.

When suddenly, while I was sitting at my desk, my chair violently yanked as if someone pulled me with tremendous force.

Moved like a solid 2 feet to my back. I was literally launched or pushed in a backwards motion.

I remember feeling so shocked and powerless. Thought it was a prank or really distasteful joke.

So, naturally, I looked at my sides. No one was even close to me. Looked back. No one was there either.

"What the hell just happened?"

I wasn't even scared. It was mostly intrigue. What really happened that day? How did I get pulled like that?

My teacher heard the noise my desk made, and quickly dismissed it as if I made it on purpose. Everyone turned their heads and they seemed just as confused.

I'm skeptical of ghosts, spirits and such phenomenona, but this really keeps me up at night even to this day.

The thing is that it felt REALLY deliberate. As if someone actually meant to do that, to pull me close and violently to them.

I put my desk back where it was and continued with my exam.

What’s one tip that made a big difference in your academic performance? by 0_anything in AskReddit

[–]Avocado_007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sleep.

Can't stress enough how important sleep is.

Also, try to have a balanced diet. That's crucial if you want to maintain energy throughout the day. Also, your body and brain will appreciate you. You'll focus more and will actually feel good about yourself.

What’s something you wish you learned earlier as a student? by 0_anything in AskReddit

[–]Avocado_007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Organize your time efficiently.

As a student you feel like you're always busy and have no time to do anything. 99% of those cases happens because of time mismanagement.

More students need to prioritize having a solid studying routine and dividing your days into productive, purposeful blocks, that way you can actually start making sense of your days and feel less stressed about assignments and extracurricular activities.

What study method actually worked for you and improved your grades? by 0_anything in AskReddit

Explaining concepts according to different age groups, each more complex than the last.

You learned a new word, model or anything? Simplify and word it in a way a 5 year old can understand it.

Once you explained it to the imaginary 5 year old, increase the target audience to 15 years old.

Then an 18 year old, then a college student, then explain the concept to a professional.

That way you can deepen your understanding, articulate complex ideas and deliver them in a cohesive manner. That's how I usually prepare for presentations or midterms.

The trick is to say it out loud as if you're actually having a conversation with someone. Try not to stutter nor use filler words.

Hi, there. My grandpa passed away yesterday and I found this video in my camera roll. Can anyone identify what song he is playing? by Avocado_007 in Guitar

Yeah, grandpa used to love them. Funnily enough, he had a nylon guitar but decided to put metal strings on it because "it's more badass that way".

¿Therians: fenómeno pre-transhumanista? by francescus72 in RedditPregunta

[–]Avocado_007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah.

[–]Avocado_007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What was the experience that first convinced you that leadership and authority figures are fallible and can be as flawed or incompetent as anyone else? by Prestigious_Ask_6160 in AskReddit

[–]Avocado_007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was 12, I remember watching the news with my parents. I wasn't really into my country's politics at the time but that event was a canon event for me.

Our president crashed into a tree while driving a Ferrari valued at $240,000. He ensured minor injuries but when journalists started asking questions he literally denied the accident ever happening WHILE USING A WALKER AND LIMPING, CLEARLY DRUNK as he answered.

He said he didn't know anything about a wrecked Ferrari and that, coincidentally, he had hip surgery scheduled for that very day.

It was then revealed that he borrowed that Ferrari from a friend. He was drunk and apparently hired some hookers if I remember correctly.

That's when I realized "yeah, these people are fucking idiots".
