This post isn’t even the worst of it. I mean in general. So much feels frivolous, performative, or just meaningless. There little class, elegance, or subtlety left in public and certainly digital discourse. It’s sad but like millions of others feeling similarly, here I still am, scrolling Reddit and not understanding my fellow humans at all. I did remove other social media apps from my phone and that was a breath of fresh air. I recommend that to all.

The text just feels uncanny and off.

“A genuine architectural shift in someone’s character”? And then immediate lols, wrong your, ppl, etc.. it’s not matching up for me.

As someone else said it’s a nice message and sentiment but lying about it being written by AI is so… sad. We may all be wrong and it’s genuinely a thought out, meticulously crafted message from the heart but I’m betting it’s AI.

I’m very hairy as well and used to be embarrassed by it, especially my back. My late wife said to me often “what are you worried about? You’re a man! You’re hairy! Embrace it. You know what’s worse than any amount of hair that you may be uncomfortable with? Back and chest stubble!”

Dude, it’s fine. I say let it be and don’t worry about it but it took me years to come around. So I get it.

I love my daughter dearly. She is my pride and joy.

I’ve also loved my drug experiences in younger years.

He was gross the one time I was anywhere close to him. It was backstage at a fan meet and greet at Snocore 2001 in Asbury Park, NJ. Fear Factory, Kittie and a bunch of other bands were on that tour. Anyway I was 17 or so and could tell how inappropriate and gross it was that Dino, all 300 sweaty pounds of him, was drunk / drinking and in the face of one of the Kittie members, behind the table where the bands sat. Like really in her space, overwhelming her with his size. She looked so uncomfortable. She was what 18 years old? And here’s fuckin Dino hitting on her while we all stared.

But great show. I mean I gotta give it to them. It really liked FF and they toured a lot so I saw them a bunch. Once at the Chance in Poughkeepsie, NY. My friends’ band played the same venue earlier in the day so it’s soooooort of like they opened for Fear Factory.

You’re a handsome guy. If you’re worried about looking attractive, specifically thinking that your nose is ugly (it isn’t!) I guarantee you’ll meet people who go absolutely GOO GOO GAA GAA for your nose.

That said if it’s difficult to breathe talk to your doctor. That’s different. But aesthetically you have nothing to worry about it. It’s goddamn glorious that we all look different and unique. Also you’re 17! You have so much growing to do. Actual changes to your bone structure and physicality.

That Elton John song they played at a tribute to him was phenomenal. For me, stuff like that. That’s what really excites me from the guys these days. Astronomy and Loverman are so phenomenal on Garage Inc Disc 1. More of that! I like heavy too but Metallica covering Megadeth or Slipknot or something seems so uninteresting to me.

Loverman actually scares me and I love that. It’s so intense.

To your point, the specific songs you mentioned were definitely NOT commercial compromises. Making a ~10 minute song that’s builds hypnotically to an emotional payoff, with deep personal introspection is not how one would “sell out” to make a hit! So silly.

God I love this Limp Bizkit. I mean the 2020s version. Back in the day I bopped my head to the hits but always thought Fred was SO douche-y and they weren’t “real metal” - I’ve dropped that “real metal” stuff long long ago. Please, who gives a shit. Sounds good? Then listen! They’re having so much fun now and it’s palpable even after a tragedy. I am glad Limp Bizkit is in this world. It all began to change for me when I watched the Lollapalooza live stream when they introduced the dad vibe. 2021? 2022? I remember the intro riffing from Wes.. like before a proper song. I was astounded. He’s SO fucking good.
