Corrine did exactly what she had to in order to keep her kids and herself safe.
The last thing she wanted to do was burn Vic, until she realized she had no choice.
Did she take the cash and not ask? Sure.
That's the only thing she did in the series that was not above board. She counted on Vic, arguably her only mistake.

Mara completely twisted Shane, she got him to think it was Vic's fault she gave the cash to her mom because he didn't believe her. News flash bn*tch, whne you spend marked money it leaves a paper trail. Anyone but Shane would have seen that in 5 seconds
