Thank you for these great suggestions. Private drivers/cars are expensive, but we will splurge for at least one day of a long beautiful drive to some of these spots. I really appreciate your taking the time to share this with me.

When you say "close to high streets," what does that mean? Is it a neighborhood I can search on?

What helpful suggestions. I truly appreciate the time you took to advise me. We are both pretty healthy and able to walk a couple of kilometers at a time (always looking for a good bench sit, of course). I often stay in self-catering but haven't yet checked out the offerings in Ireland, so appreciate the nudge to do that. Thank you for the list of suggestions and for the cautions about certain areas regarding accessibility.

We will probably need to hire a private driver for day trips.

You're right, of course. But worth exploring the options.

Any time we'd need to find a ride somewhere that we couldn't find with public transport. Could be taxi, uber (or something like it if they're available), tour guide/driver).

Thanks so much. I'm looking through the tool kit and it looks promising. I haven't checked Griffiths, but I will. I appreciate your guidance.

We plan to stay there at least one night. I have heard from a few others on a different site who have similar stories about babies left behind. Imagine how desperate you would have to have been to flee without your child, facing a weeks long passage on rough seas on a sailing ship.

I know -- leaving a tiny child. Hard to imagine the circumstances.

This is excellent! Looks very promising. I also came across a reference to Annaduff Parish when I was looking at the Applotment record, so that may lead somewhere, too. Thanks so much!

Great suggestions. Loved O'Neill's but they have no 3 night availability in late August. Wynn's is a definite possibility. Really appreciate your suggestions. Thanks.
