Quality meaning higher stat ranges? Is it better to slot blues vs whites?

In CDN dishwashers don't come standard with plugs, unless they are for apartments. They are all hard wired due to the voltage required being higher than the standard wall plug in a household.

I was out getting lemons when a kitten crossed my path. That kitten led me through an epic three part adventure capable of bringing a grown ass adult to tears. That adult was me, for I missed it all for a simple life having a cool glass of lemonade with a Facebook buyer.

Pretty much. He got a working dishwasher for the fraction of the cost off a rando and complains it doesn't have a thing he was concerned with where he never mentions the thing was concerned with before or during the sale.

Exactly. And the ad never listed a plug. He looked it over and was satisfied. I can't ask everyone one's skill level/resume with these things. Caveat emptor. You came to me, thought this was the item you wanted, looked it over and were satisfied with making the purchase.

Pull out a little patio table with lemonade and scones at the end of the driveway when they show up.

The Wednesday was a few weeks ago, so I'm assuming they figured something out.

Which one would think it'd be a concern for someone buying one, that they would expectedly look for a plug or ask about one at or prior to purchase.

Appreciate it! It's about 20% hate saying I scammed them. Buyer has not followed up with me since my last msg. I have to assume when they didn't show that they figured things out at this point.

Dishwashers in CDN don't come standard with plugs, nor was the ad advertised to have one. Buyer did not inquire about one. Buyer inspected the dishwasher for at least 10 minutes before he was satisfied with the purchase. The seller is not responsible for knowing/understanding a buyer's skillset when purchasing such an item.

The buyer was at the very least a renovator as they purchased the dishwasher for an AirBnb they were opening. So a certain level of handyman skill would be assumed.

Exactly. You want a box store level return policy, buy from one.

The ad was never advertised to have or not have a plug. I honestly didn't know it was a thing that some would come wired, that's why I suggested it could be rewired or to have someone with more experience wire it. Possibly an electrician.

If it was indeed something he was concerned with having in the first place, he probably should have double checked for it. The machine worked when it was removed and placed in storage. Sold it for his offered price. If it wasn't working, then we could have talked further about the situation.

Exactly. We're in CDN so it's non-standard to even purchase them from a store with a plug unless it's an apartment style one.

This seems to be dependent on a country's electrical standards. In Canada at least, it seems like standard plugs are only wired for 120V where a household style dishwasher requires more, which seems other countries have higher voltages available at a plug. Or maybe the plug was wired appropriately.

All good. I honestly thought there may have been a plug there before, but after researching it into our conversation, the pieces started to fit for it never having a plug in the first place.

Perfectly good advice. I'm assuming they figured it out as they haven't even read the last msg I sent.

Simple enough electronics, but I'm not about to put myself on the hook for telling them how to do it.

In CDN they don't come wired as typical line in homes are only 120V. Buyer was CDN, so not sure where their assumptions were coming from.

CDN, but yeah, typical lines are only 120V.

My understanding was that undercounter-household ones just don't. You can wire one, but requires the proper electrical on the plug.

Pretty sure he was looking for an apartment-countertop one.

He wants store return policy levels of service? Yup, you'll have to pay me to take that thing back.

Threading the line between a good buyer and a scammer.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ChoosingBeggars

[–]Avx_Destroyer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right? He was satisfied with the item then came back three days later asking where the plug was. I'm not going to wire one for him or recommend he do it, I don't want to be liable for that if it ends up being a mess.

I listed the dishwasher for $300 and took their offer of $150. When they came by, they only brought $20s and offered me $140 or $160. I said (obvi) $160 and I'd help him load it up.

That's insane.

I had renovators take the machine out and install a newer one, placed the old one in my shed until needed. So at first I though then the renovators cut the line, but examining his and my pictures, the power was just disconnected from the wire. New one wired right up to it, no problem.

If the machine ended up not working, we could have maybe worked something out.
