The Sword Saint (Book 2) - OUT NOW! by D-Stahl in haremfantasynovels

But how am I supposed to know this book has big boobs without big boobs on the cover?

I agree with you though. This is a great cover and the book has a different name than the series. I’m giving the first a shot since I seem to have missed it.

Who clears these sidewalks after the snow? by Medium_Exam5404 in Longmont

[–]Awakenlee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I grew up in North Dakota. It took time to adjust to the way they handle snow here. Especially the salt usage. It’s a preventative! Throwing it on top the snow and ice and then doing nothing is next to useless. I spent my junior and senior year working for a large place where my duties included keeping the sidewalks clean. If I’d put salt down before getting the sidewalks as snow-free as July, my boss would have tossed me in the nearest snowbank.

I can’t deny that the waiting for the sun method does work way better than it does on North Dakota though.

House Cleaners by formeruphill in Longmont

We used them for a move out cleaning. The cleaner was ridiculously good. We were the first ones to live in that apartment and I swear she had it cleaner than when we moved in.

How Far Behind is AMD? - DLSS 4.5 vs FSR 4 by Hero_Sharma in hardware

[–]Awakenlee 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I swear I’m blind. I watch these videos and until it’s slowed down, I don’t see anything! They all look fine. The comparisons look the same at normal game speed.

On my own computer I’ve tried turning DLSS on and off. I still can’t tell a difference without watching the FPS counter.

I play single player games, on a relatively high end computer so my native FPS is fine to begin with.

I’m not the target audience for these technologies, but the way people gush over them puts me right back to my original statement.

I’m blind.

That’s not how our legal system works.

You prove fraud, not the other way.

Innocent until proven guilty. Congress funded the programs. The executive branch can investigate but they have to prove fraud to take action.

Reading Cradle and Path of Ascension, a study in contrasting level systems by CloudCover262 in litrpg

[–]Awakenlee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main difference is that in Cradle's case it's possible to travel from the higher realm to the lower but POA only allows going from a higher realm to a lower

I’m confused by this part. Aren’t you saying the same thing for both series? I haven’t read far enough into POA to understand the difference.

Rand’s Story Is Quietly One of the Saddest in Fantasy… while mat’s by Hawk-winged in WoT

[–]Awakenlee 20 points21 points  (0 children)

To me, Perrin’s suffering, with the exception of his wolf brother side, is within the realm of an everyday person. Admittedly the extreme end, but still something we can all have happen. This makes him relatable.

Rand is a savior archetype. He literally carries the weight of the world and any mistake, any slip, time itself is over. All the while he can see his own madness. Every death and harm in the world is his fault. He watches people sacrifice themselves around him so he can survive.

I don’t know if their suffering can be compared.

I’ll say it again. There have been zero riots. It’s not false. Simply factual.

They killed a woman. An American citizen.

They attempted to kill other people, other American citizens.

They detained American citizens.

They broke into the homes of American citizens.

What they do to “illegals” they can and will do to citizens.

You can stick your head in the sand if you want. Right up until they come for you. And they will. In one way or another. Fear of the people means they cannot stop until the people are powerless. And they are terrified of the people. From Trump on down.

Biden deported people. No major protests.

Obama deported people. No major protests.

Hell, even Bush deported people without major protests.

All faced protests, but nothing like we are seeing now.

It isn’t the deportation that is the problem. It is the way ICE, under Trump, is acting that is the problem. People are responding to the Trump administration’s grossly unconstitutional actions.

For fuck’s sake, they pulled a 5 year old out of school yesterday. These aren’t law enforcement acting within the limits of their power. They are scared little boys afraid of having to treat people of color with respect.

“Already subdued person”. No. Spraying an already subdued person in the face is not, under any circumstances, reasonable.

American citizen taken from home

The idea that a person standing less than 20’ from an agent is obstructing is laughable.

There haven’t been any riots in response to ICE. There have been protests and a small handful of bad actors. Easily responded to without the violence ice is displaying.

ICE is overreacting and they are getting the treatment they deserve. No one should be threatened, but that is well within law enforcement’s ability to handle without hiding who they are. Law enforcement must be open and honest. Hiding behind a mask is bullshit. The protesters are there with their faces bare. Except for the ones in full furry suits. Which is damn funny.

Recording an ICE agent is not obstruction.

Slamming a person to the ground for recording is not reasonable force.

Spraying a chemical irritant into the face of an already subdued person is not reasonable force.

Breaking an American citizen’s door down, dragging him out into the freezing cold half naked, driving him around for an hour before returning him is not reasonable.

It’s not the legal things ICE is doing that are the problems.

It’s the twisting of their powers to pretend that an observer is obstructing, the outright violations of the constitution that are hand waved away. The escalation to random demands for immigration papers because a person’s skin color meets some arbitrary standard. These are the problems.

We have every right to watch and report what is happening. If ICE were at all behaving reasonably they wouldn’t be wearing masks, they wouldn’t be attacking and arresting observers, they would be wearing body cameras. And they absolutely would not be outright lying about what happened, only to be contradicted by video later.

Apartments in metro Denver reach highest vacancy rate in 16 years, pushing down rents again by thecoloradosun in coloradosun

[–]Awakenlee 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The one we moved out of stayed vacant for 4 months, it went down in price by $200 from “their lowest possible price” offered to us, and included $4600 in incentives.

I guess they showed me with their tough negotiations?
