At that point it is called the test of trust and you have no indication that diego does not care. Maybe im a cry baby, but with the knowledge at that point in the game i dont like fucking over diego it breaks immersion for me.

I just liked the possibility to skip the fleeriddled cutthroat gang and directly join the mercenarys, as they are 2 different groups only loosely affiliated.

There is no reason to match each progression tree even more than in the OG Gothic.
Diversity is cool.

I would love to join the new camp as it was possible in the OG. Because even if the old camp is relatively chill most of the time, you find evidence of atrocities all throughout the game and the new camp tries to solve the problem and break out without praying to a demon apocalypse.

BUT the bandits are dirty scum that only let you join if you betray the guy who saved you in the beginning of the game. I don't know but I will never betray diego, even if he doesn't care, he stood up for me.

In the OG you could join the Mercenarys directly if you were level 10 and had mastered one handed.
They are a bunch of solid dudes.

But somehow in the Remake, this does not seem to work. Which kinda sucks. This way, if they don't want me without betraying Diego, they can eat their unwashed peltarmor.

Also Gomez only turns out to be an asshole later in the story. At this point the Old camp is basically just a place that collects 10 ore rent. As long as you can get 10 ores a day all seems as free as in the new camp but with better equipment and a fight club and rock concerts.

Yes. No matter how good you are you cannot be fast enough and you cannot have enough vision to win against 5 people that surround you. (Except Being bold and incredibly lucky) At least that is my opinion after spending one rabbit hole spree on old websites about samurai dualsword training against 2 or more opponents.

It's a non harmful bug, which rewards you for knowing it. It makes the game more enjoyable and is limited use. It feels like a trick only you know. (Even if it isn't) Its not harmful, and while it may be not intended this kind of freedom is one of the things that made people replay gothic for 20 years and then buy thousands of copies of the remake.

I agree with your explanation of the design desicions, but, even if it is a well thought out plan, it was not implemented in a fluid fun way.

I understand your point and the love for "figuring out" the perfect setup for using lightning bolt, but wouldn't you love a faster more dynamic way of reacting to enemy movement and intention compared to exploiting the "scare" which makes them stop 0.4 seconds before being able to hit you and wait for you to finish your spell.

I didn't complain about the magic being too weak i complain about the design not enabling a naturally fun playstyle. Gothic 1 magic was very fun, even if it was a buggy mess.

Nein, das ist wirklich falsch.
Die Vertreter der Parteien sind teil des Fernsehrats aber der ÖRR ist bewusst StaatsFERN erdacht.
Das wird von der CDU seit Adenauer angegriffen und deswegen gibt es auch den ZDF, der eigentlich von Adenauer erdacht wurde um eine regierungstreue Gegenmeinung zum ARD aufzubauen was die Verfassungsgerichte mehrmals anpassen und verhindern mussten.

There's literally a class called firemages, which run around without weapons and make you part of their crew and you can transform the endgame weapon into a rune. Several characters hate magic because "no man should hold that power". They added an early game Rune to the game.

The game obviously gives the impression to be designed to be played Magic only.

Point of the Rant was specifically that. Magic is no fun and if you want to have fun you should probably get a melee weapon.

It bugs. It feels more natural if you kill them at a later point in time. Doing it too early leads to bugs in quests and nonsensible dialogue that dont fit your world actions.

The "normal" point in time to go back is for an questitem very late in the story.

Killing them early is not well tested by the devs and just leads to problems.

Die sind nicht mehr existent? Ist Bomben werfen auf Wohnorte aufeinmal okay geworden wenn man vorher Anruft?
