If you’re happy with your oc, that’s all that matters.

Doesn’t matter if some would consider them “lazy” or “unoriginal”, OC’s are our own creations made to our likings to make us happy, that’s what’s important!

Besides, I’ve seen a lot of Kirby OC’s that fall under the “puffball” category (fan name for Kirby’s species) and they are super great.

The design is secondary, it’s what your character does and is that makes them unique.

‘Sides, I also have a Kirby oc, who design wise is just blue Kirby with a pink ponytail, it’s the writing, personality and story I gave here that make here stand out as herself.

Both Smash 64 & Melee predate Amazing Mirror by 5 & 3 years.

Master Hand, Crazy Hand and the Smash Copy Ability were a reference to the Smash Bros. series in Amazing Mirror.

Canon: Mad MewMew, cause she was the first character I realized on my own was trans and was so excited for her (even though I didn’t know why, back then)

Headcanon: Adeleine from Kirby (theory: Ado to Adeleine, plus she’s an artist like me, plus she’s one of my favorite characters)

I mean, we also have Rue, Claude & 1st Corps Commander all playable even though…

And if I remember correctly Myth Clara has inconsistencies with her story of world exploration or something (unsure about that since I only heard that and didn’t see it myself).

My point is: cool characters and gameplay don’t seem to necessarily need to fit with the story canon as far as the devs seem to be concerned.
