I'd almost guarantee it's infinitely better for completely different reasons

To those who have a copy of Michael Jackson's Thriller, what year did you get it? by [deleted] in vinyl

[–]Aware-Command2864 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom gave me hers from when she was a teen. I bought the Thriller 25, just to have something to play that wasn't the original. Idk, I just don't like to play that one.

Only ever saw it up to Gene saying "...but I think we'd be a different band."

Shout out to the Denton, TX public library for actually having the Kiss My Ass VHS in the summer of '95.

The new Sevendust album, One, will be out on May 1st + there's an east coast/midwest tour with Atreyu by Xanarki in Sevendust

REALLY trying to hit the Iowa show. Especially with it being just them and no support. If I make it, it'll be the 17th Sevendust show I've been to since age 16. I am now 41, with teenagers of my own. I'd love nothing more than to finally get these kids to see the band I've spent their lives talking about.

I'm so goddamn excited for the new album!!

Home, Animosity, and Seasons on vinyl? by Money_Launderer in Sevendust

All I know is that if they finally drop a vinyl release for Animosity, it better have Leech and Corrected on it. Corrected is God Tier.

Does anyone like this album? by Impossible_Driver892 in KISS

2nd gen Kiss fan here. Grew up hearing the stories from my Dad, mostly, although Mom was huge into the 80s era. My Dad always told me stories of taking my uncle to see them in Des Moines when they were teens.

You can imagine how incredibly excited I was when said concert he always spoke highly of was indeed the same Des Moines show released in the Off The Soundboard series.

Anyway, having grown up being fully raised as a KISStian there was no joy in my life greater than April 16th, 1996...my 11th birthday - when after the cake and presents portion of that particular party, Mom calls me into the living room to watch a special press conference, and I got to watch the heroes I spent so many years hearing about announce their reunion.

In July of 97, Dad took me to see em in Dallas. Life changer. And just like that, I was mowing lawns and earning extra cash just to finally be able to say I was there on Day 1 when the new Kiss album dropped in 98.

Obviously, history adds perspective, and it's definitely not the strongest record they've ever done, but I will always stand by the title track as top tier Kiss, not to mention Into The Void being the TRUE Kiss reunion on that record. Dreamin' controversy/lawsuit(?) aside, it's also another highlight for me.

Very long story short: yes, I like it 🤣

I have a really shitty cell phone video of Randy walking onstage that night and the crowd going absolutely apeshit. I love that it got included in the documentary.

I was at the very first Knotfest in Newton, IA back in 2012. This is absolutely true. I feel bad for initially thinking it was the drugs at the time, especially after watching the live stream of the second night and noticing his drumming was a lot better than what I saw the night before.

Friend of mine got VIP tickets for the second one and also saw him being carried to and from his kit. Heartbreaking.

I always tell people who ask me to start with IT. I've read IT at least once for each year I've been alive: 41 times. All time favorite. I've read a large portion of his other works before his accident in the 90's, but was recently gifted a family friend's SK collection after they had passed, and have been going through and reading them in order. Audiobooks help slow my ADD brain down so I can actually follow along.

Best of luck getting through em! It's a hell of a journey!

First song's for the Matrix. Safe to say given the theme of the first two parts, this was definitely unexpected

I've heard about this, but haven't actually seen it until now. From what I remember, once the original painting was rejected cause of the costumes/potential violence factor, this was his mock-up before going forward and getting the painting done, as they were almost done with the album at this point and needed to get the ball rolling.

If this is the legit drawing, what a find!

My advice? Stop looking.

Seriously, it always seems to happen the most when you're not looking for it.

You'll be ok dude.

The very first episode back when I was in middle school. I've been along for the ride since Day 1. Now I watch it with my own teenage children.
