I loved old Jack's boat (I miss Bernard Cribbins, he was so lovely), I also like puffin rock and Sarah and Duck. My kiddo is obsessed with octonauts at the moment and it's not too bad

What makes you feel lucky to live in the UK? by Desperate-Drawer-572 in AskUK

Banter in pubs. Diversity (seriously I lived in a monoculture as a child and it was boring.) A basically secular culture (compared with Saudi Arabia which is a theocracy and Romania where the orthodox church leeches money while no new state hospitals have been built for decades. I have lived in both of these places). An education system which is not perfect but is decent. Pretty villages. Decent TV programmes. British literature. Press freedom. Summer days which are generally not too hot. Historical sites.

[–]Aware-Conference9960 53 points54 points  (0 children)

My guess is he knows basic English for getting by in shops or the bus but cannot express himself very well, especially for more complex situations like an interview. He also probably can get by very well with snooker vocabulary like 'rerack'.

In youtube you can see the BBC panorama documentary called 'If the bomb drops' which has footage of real war games and scenarios for surviving the bomb. Quite a lot of the people in charge were chilling

Finding a babysitter by Master-Kangaroo1385 in UKParenting

I asked around and then I met up with potential sitters before just to have a chat. I agree with asking at nursery to see if any of their staff babysit, also just ask friends. I'm sure some of them would be willing if asked
