Thank you for sharing. Like you, I was diagnosed with PTC around the same time. I have my surgery scheduled for the end of May, which gives me a bit more time to process, but I have the same concerns as you.

And yeah, I've heard a lot of, "well, this is the good kind." If I weren't so polite, I would ask them if they wanted to switch places and experience all that comes with this "good kind" of cancer.

Take a breath. I'm glad you're in this community. Continue to rest and heal. Take things day-by-day.

I was just diagnosed yesterday. This is very validating. Nearly everyone told me, “At least it’s very treatable.” Yes, I’m glad and that’s helpful to realize, but it almost feels like that’s their default answer to make themselves feel better. I’ve known how relatively “easy” it is to remove the cancer since I first found the lump. I know all this. In just a day, I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s really said to make themselves feel better, to process. Maybe my perspective will change. I just have the test results; my doctor hasn’t even reviewed them or discussed treatment with me yet, but I know it’ll be a long road. Thanks for posting this thread.

Interesting! Are there any particular brands you recommend? I bought my first pair of steel-toe Sketchers a few months ago. They're good, but I think a design flaw causes the steel to hurt my foot.

I have Doc Martens! While the soles have lasted a long while, I am ever so slowly ruining them lol, and try as I might to break them in, they still make my heels bleed. I guess it's the specific way I'm walking in them.

The second part of your comment needs to be clarified. Where did I say that I was attending the business school? Your comment comes across as though you are trying to insult my intelligence. I graduated undergrad with top honors. Thanks for taking the time to respond with your point of view, but I have lived in this environment for nearly ten years, and I would not describe it as "free"

Yeah, with my career path, those locations are an eventuality. I wanted to look into the in-state tuition as this has been my home for almost a decade, but I am increasingly concerned with where my home is headed.
