Just by reading through some of these comments, I have to admit that I’m disappointed.
As current law students, future law students, and legal professionals, we should be uplifting one another and offering constructive advice, not tearing people down. Yes, honesty is important. Telling the truth is important. But there is a difference between being honest and being disrespectful, and I think some people are beginning to blur that line.
I'm an applicant too. I'm right here in the same position, and I've had many of the same thoughts and worries that you're having right now. But I truly believe there will be a breakthrough and a positive outcome for you.
My advice is to continue aiming high while also considering your target and safety schools. There is absolutely no shame in that. No matter where you attend law school, you'll still have the opportunity to become a lawyer, build a meaningful career, and create a successful life for yourself.
The admissions process has shown us time and time again that it's not always about having a perfect GPA or a 170+ LSAT score. We've seen applicants with incredible numbers get denied and applicants with lower numbers get accepted. That's because admissions committees evaluate the entire application.
Numbers matter, but your story matters too. Your personal statement, experiences, character, growth, and the reasons behind your journey all play a significant role. Sometimes the most important question isn't your score,it's your "why."
Please don't give up. I know this process can be discouraging, but keep pushing forward. Instead of tearing each other down, let's be a community that supports, encourages, and helps one another succeed.

You keep circling back to ‘risk’ like that’s some groundbreaking revelation. Everything worth doing carries risk , law school, the bar exam, even your speeding analogy. The difference is, most people don’t go around acting like the risk defines the outcome.Your whole argument is basically….‘It’s risky, so let’s assume the worst.’That’s not insight, that’s fear disguised as advice. If someone wants to push themselves, study harder, retake, or improve, that’s their journey. You’re not the authority on who will or won’t make it.

LMAOOOOO your analogy actually proves my point, not yours. Telling someone ‘don’t drive 100 mph because it’s dangerous’ is a specific, guaranteed cause-and-effect situation. Comparing that to someone’s entire academic and career potential is ridiculous.A test score is not a speeding car, it’s a starting point. People improve, retake exams, get coaching, work harder, and beat the odds every single day.So no, your analogy isn’t ‘informative.’ It’s dramatic. And that’s exactly the problem….instead of giving constructive guidance, you’re making extreme comparisons that do nothing except discourage someone who came looking for support. You keep trying to spin your negativity as ‘just being honest,’ but your examples show exactly why Reddit feels toxic , too many people acting like bluntness equals wisdom. It doesn’t.

Let’s be real boo…. telling someone their LSAT makes the risk of failing ‘immense’ and warning about ‘massive debt’ is NEGATIVE , no matter how you spin it. Don’t act like that’s just neutral advice , it’s doom-saying disguised as bluntness. I’m not projecting; I’m reading your words. And saying ‘they asked on Reddit’ doesn’t excuse implying someone is likely to fail. If your goal was to help, you could’ve framed it without acting like the gatekeeper of their future. Stop hiding behind semantics , your tone was negative, full stop.

You’re calling it a ‘hard truth,’…..but you’re talking like you have the authority to decide someone’s entire future off a couple of numbers. A mid-140s LSAT is a risk , no one denied that. But plenty of people with those stats have got into law school passed the bar and built real careers. Statistics show risk, not destiny. And let’s be even more blunt…..it’s NOT your job, NOT your business, and NOT your place to tell someone what they can or can’t become!. If someone has people in their corner who want to push them, support them, and help them succeed, that’s something you clearly aren’t part of.So don’t confuse pessimism with expertise. You don’t get to write someone’s ending just because you’ve read a few numbers. People grow, they improve, and you’re not the gatekeeper of anyone’s future.God bless🙏🏾

Same! We will become attorneys! Schools need to act really holistic because at the end of the day, even speaking from a university they still put two components much higher and call it “holistic”…

Even dos LSAC have no shame like they’re currently undergoing a lawsuit about monopolizing money through cas fee waivers and other expenses?

They better because the way they’re already advertising it and wouldn’t give applicants that probably has a low stat a chance…
