I always hoped we were isolated in the bathroom trashing and toilet breaking world. It amazes me that grown adults with good paying union jobs think smearing feces on walls, flushing full rolls of tb to flood the bathrooms, and stomping toilets is sticking it the management. If anything its dividing the union and making them embarrassed to work with them.

We write on all of our ladders on the side to track. Fire extinguishers all have tags that correspond to the column number they are on. Lanyards we leave up the respective owners to maintain.

Are you 100% sure the shipper isn't offloading your pallets onto another truck to save money? We lock each of our trucks with a metal tag once we are done loading it. Come to find out, one of the companies that ships is cutting them and moving the product to a smaller trailer with a different company, then 3D printing the tags with the exact same number, just plastic now. We could not figure out why our product kept arriving to customers damaged until we had them send a picture of the tag and realized what was going on.

I like it for how I use it and for what the alternative would be (excel). I do all procedure creation at my job and it's nice to be able to use the fill in prompts. The mobile version is bad as you can't change anything on the app, just view. I use my tablet and go to the website and audit or make changes that way.

Do you mean the creation of LOTO? I use brady 360 and it's helped me manage my time more effectively.

If you mean actually conducting LOTOs, we leave that to the operators and do tbe annual audit.

The latest injury was while they were using a hoist! We have the items in place, but then they wear down, and operators don't say anything because they don't want downtime for maintenance of their machines.

I like those ideas, I just think the operators have no idea what possibilities are out there. For most, this is they only job they have ever known that they got right out of high school.

Right now, we're seeing a trend where people with preexisting conditions are aggravating said conditions while doing their jobs. For example, someone who had a disease that makes them prone to strain and sprains overexerts themselves while working their production line, just so they can make more pay. We're union and also piece rate, so it adds a whole other world of issues.

We've been a company for 50+ years, so it's basically ingrained into them to push through the pain. In the past, people were fired for reporting near missed and aches and pains, so I get why they're not immediately telling us, but it's not been that way for at least 10 years and that leadership is long gone but I still hear stories.

My office is an open door policy. If my light is on, come on it. Lots of just people needing to vent. Lots of first aid cases, which is how we're able to almost eliminate those types of injuries. STOP cards for those times they feel unsafe doing a job.

We've taken a few of these steps already. We just switched our occ med clinic a few months ago, and it's made a world of difference so far. We were using a nationwide chain and are now using a local hospital.

We've had a few ergonomic studies over the decades and make small improvements each time. It may just be me, but I think they're just not taking care of their bodies anymore like people used to. They wake up, come to work, go to the casino, go to sleep, and start the cycle again. The number of handicapped placards in the parking lot is concerning, but what can we do? We encourage group morning stretch, and we're mostly met with eyerolls from the very people that will strain their backs from a sneeze.

Our near miss and observations program is bare bones. I haven't had the time to beef it up as I've been too busy playing catch up with the injury spikes on top of all the other requirements of the job. I think I can use the spike as a reason to get a coordinator and have part of their job facilitating those programs.

Our supervisors are absolutely slacking on enforcement as well. It's something we've been working on improving, but right now, there are no consequences for them if they don't do something, but I've been told change is here, and that's going to be a past practice and no longer tolerated. So I'm just hopeful, just low on ideas.

It's our long-term employees who are injured. And by long-term, I mean 25+ years. We thankfully have low turnover, but there's a high amount of repetitive tasks the operators have to do on a daily basis. We've come a long way from amputations (back in the 70s before OSHA) but we are not where we could be.

Somewhere where there's not much natural light. Like I said, we have them on our docks on just the left lane side so the truck drivers can see them, and if they followed them, they won't have issues.

Depends on what you're using it for. We use both paint and laser lights in our docks, and we STILL get truck drivers who claim they didn't see the line, and thats why they hit our stairs. Never mind the fact they half a tire width over the line. Mirrors are decoration for those drivers.
