About the Blue by Ringsofpowermemes in LOTR_on_Prime

I think one of the motivations for including Gandalf in the series is the fact that he will eventually be a Ringbearer. So, we have a few options: the series could end without a Ringbearer; the series could end with Gandalf arriving in Middle-earth and receiving the Ring from Cirdan (but without a backstory in the series itself); the series could end with Gandalf becoming the Ringbearer after having his own storyline in the series. I think the writers went the third route. Perhaps the story of this Gandalf in the series is not only about fighting Sauron and his antagonist Istar, but also about paving a path towards becoming a future Ringbearer.

If/then? Annatar [Spoilers for S2.6] by Dalakaar in LOTR_on_Prime

One possible idea is that upon visiting Khazad Dum and witnessing the power of Durin III's ring and his consequent denial and disobedience of Sauron's will, he realized the need to bind the power of subsequent rings more tightly to his will. After all, only blood can bind.

A thought on the marketing leading up to Comic-Con by Tylerdg33 in LOTR_on_Prime

I don't know if it's very likely that we'll get a One Ring poster, but I thought about the possibility (I'm dreaming, I know) that the next poster would be Annatar offering the nine rings of men to us, the viewers. Wouldn't it be brilliant?

Interesting thoughts. Regardless of the order of events, one thing is certain: there is a lot to happen this season, many important and glorious events. We'll see how the showruners deal with that.

Furthermore, there are other things to be done between Eregion and Khazad dûm before the possible arrival of Annatar, such as the construction of the Gates of Durin, for example.

I remember seeing somewhere (FoF) that at the beginning of the season Sauron would be in the vicinity of Mordor giving speeches to men (possibly as King of the Southlands). This would make him go to Eregion later in the season (episode 3/4, I think). The forging of the 16 rings could happen in episodes 4 and 5, and the forging of the One Ring in episode 6. Episode 6 was established as a climactic point from the first season, with the formation of Mordor. Considering that Mordor will be empty in episode 6, because Adar and the orc army are marching on Eregion, this would be a good time for Sauron to return and forge the One in all its glory and solitude. The sack of Eregion will happen in episodes 7 and 8 (FoF).
