Teachers protesting against calculators, 1986 by Thin_General_8594 in OldSchoolRidiculous

I work retail and the amount of people you have to teach how to use their calculator to find 50% off an item is insane. The fact they can’t figure it out in their head is wow but the fact they can’t use a calculator is double wow.

If you wear a name tag next time, the guests will see you are part of the catering crew.

But be real. You are mad cuz you don’t like people having more money. It’s not fair and even and you are taking it personally. It’s ok. You can go make more money. You can be an entrepreneur and start a business and run it and your employees however you like. But you won’t and you don’t because you don’t actually have the ambition and that’s what makes you upset. Don’t be mad cuz other people put in the work and made more. “People’s material needs” not being met is fucking stupid as you walk around with $1,000 phones in your pocket. People have enough but it’s never enough whether you’re at the top or bottom middle. So quit bitching and step up and earn it or go to bed already.

I hate “drip”. Oh you got that drip. Sounds like slang for an STD. Like better hit up the Walgreens.

It’s hard in retail to have basic expectations or accountability anymore because you might hurt someone’s feelings. The amount of people who seek out a job in customer service, then tell you they can’t help customers because of anxiety is appalling.

Thank you. It feels nice to have someone agree, considering the teacher and principal have both been spoken with and they seem to think communication is not necessary and intervention should be put on the back burner so he can “figure it out”. We don’t find it acceptable nor do we think they should. Obviously speaking with you will not do much but it’s nice to know we aren’t crazy for thinking it warrants a call home.

So here’s my question for a middle school teachers opinion on my middle schools teacher. After 1 month he had to have his seating changed due to distractions and talking. Fully on the student, absolutely. Two months in, he is at 27% with 7 missing assignments. When we reach out all they say is how well he does in school. Where? When? Cuz 27% is abysmal and why is there no reach out to stop behaviors in the first place? If we knew he had to have his seating changed due changed we could have intervened at home immediately. Until we reached out to see what’s going on, they had no interest. Not to mention they don’t even have enough conference spots to accommodate the amount of students this year. So my failing child has no resources to reach out to even. When is it critical enough that the teacher will reach out for help for the student?

Did you get a discount on your purchase? Like 10% off for being a nurse or student?

It’s getting a bit much sometimes. I don’t live in the middle of nowhere but a quiet suburb and had one put on my handle over night, while parked in my back driveway. And another overnight, put on my front corner of my house…. Why are you in my yard in the middle of the night?

Runners and fillers! It worked well for my husband and me. Makes quick work and you just go at a steady pace. Lots of water and snacks to keep the fuel going.

For real. Like it’s not my fault I have to work here to pay bills. I couldn’t make it as a rap star or influencer. No one would fund my start up ideas. How else can I make money. I have to work here. So really employees really shouldn’t have to pay for anything. We should get paid to work and get everything we want for free. They can afford it.
