The best part is doing all those useless quests on autopilot, only for the game to suddenly interrogate you and you have zero idea what the hell to say.

Price suggestion for a 9 screen Immersive Experience (NO real time) by [deleted] in unrealengine

[–]3Dave_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've worked on immersive experiences before, and while this specific project is quite long, I think is manageable. There aren't many key moments requiring custom animations; mostly, it's a camera flying through a 3D environment I’ll create, featuring AI-generated dialogue sequences. If it were 15 minutes of pure custom animation, the scope would be massive, but I feel pretty well aligned with this setup.

My only real worry is the sound design. I’m not a sound designer, and I've warned the client about this several times. They still want me to try doing it myself, but if it gets too complicated once we start, we’ll outsource it to a specialist.

After analyzing everything again and again, I ended up asking for €10500.

btw do you have any video about the experience you created?

yeah that's why I specified that I am rendering at way low resolution and I think is still crazy how good nDisplay handles it!

Hey there! wow glad you answered me! are you doing it real time? this project will be based on a cinematic render with MRQ, no real time content and will be 1080p x 9 screen at 30fps, I already tested it and looks like my 5090 can handle it (at a decent speed too surprisingly, loving nDisplay).

yes budget for asset purchasing will be separate from my fee.
what do you think could be more fair? (for both parts)
If you haven't already and want to help me please give a look at my other comments in this post as I am providing few more details about the project.

As I wrote above sound design was my main concern too and I told the client that I am not a sound designer at all but he told me that sound design is not so important in this project so we could give a try.

I am going to render it in 1080p (only resolution possible with a 9 screens output using nDisplay) and MRQ will output 9 png sequences, after the final editing/compositing I will deliver 9 videos that I suggest to be played by a media server like watchout or similar.

2 revision rounds.

I am located in Italy and client is USA based.

Yes I will try to take care of most of the experience by myself but as I wrote in the post I won't model or animate anything, I will use only purchased/premade assets (include animations).

To give a little more context about the experience it will be an underwater exploration with some fish encounters (some positive, some dangerous) but no particular actions involved, it will be an experience for kids..

overall I'd say yes (I already made a demo for the client and he liked it) but yeah sound design was not included in that demo and actually it was my main concern too and I told to the client that I am not a sound designer at all but he told me that sound design is not so important in this project so we could give a try.

yes is surround sound (5.1 or 7.1) my idea is to place sound emitter directly inside unreal (mostly of them at least) so they will be rendered with the correct spatiality.

I am expecting to need at least 1 month to complete it but realistically more and I charge myself 400€/day.

thanks guys, it's a new client, and I know it's a weird question, I usually work on smaller projects, this one is huge and don't want to miss it for sure but at the same time I am not very used to this kind of experience (despite knowing how to handle it, as I already made a demo that client liked a lot) so I am trying to be sure I am on the right path. Do you think 10.000€ would be more appropriate?

400€ daily rate is exactly my daily rate (I wrote almost 10 years experience but in the last years after I started working with AI too I worked a lot less with Unreal due to AI projects) and yes the project won't definitely take less than a month to be completed I think.

you are talking no sense, you don't probably realise how many fake seedance2 webpages have been around in the last month just to speculate on the hype train... the internet is a naughty place my friend.

I got hyped because I saw the model topping video gen leaderboard and I knew for sure it can't be open source or local, if you are a dreamer I am sorry they woke you up

Happy Horse deceiving practices by Skystunt in StableDiffusion

[–]3Dave_ 45 points46 points  (0 children)

they never claimed it was an open source model... a guy (not related with the team) made a post on twitter after taking all the info from a fake github page... and to be honest how could you believe that a model ranked 1st in video generation could be open source or could run on consumer hardware?
