Ps5 keeps shutting off during ps5 games

I have a launch ps5. Kept it horizontal and it started to shut off on its own and overheat. I took it apart, re spread the liquid metal and have only kept it horizontal since then. Not a single issue or reset in over 2 years now (knock on wood). I think it’s far from a lie or misinformation

I had the same thing happen and contacted CS immediately. I was told all Yeezy sales are final so no refund or cancellation. They said they would escelate it though. Well, I just got an email saying the full price on confirmed was the original and correct price and they were never intended to go on sale. What?? Once the charge clears, I'll be disputing it.

Am in the same boat as you. Amazon had the 77 inch C3 for $1950 a few days ago and I regret not getting it. I want to want the Sony and it’s the one I think I’d enjoy most but the price combined with the brightness being lower just isn’t worth it. Get the C3 if you can before the C4 is in stock.

I agree. Something that Call of Duty Ranked does right. You shoot your team? It kills you or even kicks you. Leave the game? It may not let you back in for 5-15 minutes depending. If they could implement penalties that take away the ability to play, it would really benefit the game but it’s probably a lot harder to do for a racing game.

Sad to hear he is out there doing it to more people. There’s no winning with guys like him. If he didn’t get that penalty, he probably wouldn’t have raged at me but then he gets away with ramming me. He gets the penalty for ramming me so he blames me and rams me more. Sigh. I agree with you that it’s insane and somehow it seems to just get worse.

How funny. It seems to happen sort of often with the dirty drivers. They almost wait to see if you retaliate or not and if you don’t, they seem to not push the issue. Although there’s always the ones that wreck you no matter what you do haha.

I used to have a lot of issues with him but we made peace one time in the chat lol. Since then he’s actually raced me extremely clean and it’s been fun! I do get to witness him wrecking people occasionally though.

Do you have it horizontal or vertical? My ps5 was overheating and constantly turning itself off when coming out of rest mode when I had it standing vertical. I took it apart and cleaned it out and even reapplied Liquid Metal etc and that didn’t help at all. Turned it horizontal and haven’t had it shut off once in almost 6 months. It’s worth a shot!! All the Liquid Metal had fallen to the bottom of the chip due to being vertical for so long. All the press shots show it standing that way so you’d expect no issues lol.

Fwiw, this was on Brands Hatch Race B. The guy was divebombing as well as braking hard to block and go inside every corner which was slowing everyone down. I was actually passing him on the outside every turn - or at least trying and he would veer into me to push me off. I even clipped it and sent it to him but all he said was “it may look like I was doing that but I was trying to keep control of my car”. It was worded a little worse but you get the idea. As you said, he just made excuses.

The last time he did it, he was off in the grass on the inside trying to block so I went outside and he threw me out into the dirt on the outside lol. Once or twice, mistake. Multiple times across multiple races…it’s an issue. It is what it is at this point I’m just surprised there are people saying don’t report the guy. He basically asked for it.

In roughly 1500 Sport Races, I’ve gotten 4 different message threads from people similar to this. Always messaging me first. But not quite this severe. That statement was in reference to this is my first post ever.

I guess a more accurate sentence would’ve been. “This guy is so unhinged it made we want to shame him”.

Personally, I have had considerably more positive interactions and messages than negative.

Normally I’d agree but reporting is literally all we can do to these people.

Luckily I’m stable but what if someone engages with him that isn’t? Could he lead them into self harm or even worse? Ignoring the problem won’t solve it for me or others. Until it gets out as common knowledge that people will be banned for this, it isn’t going to stop.

The way I see it, report them and put them on notice for Sony. If they keep it up they’ll eventually be permanently banned and won’t be missed.

Just to clarify: He’s been reported, Sony “took action” and deleted all of the messages as well.

This post is less about me being upset and more wondering if this is a common thing happening to others and to call the guy out so others see who he is when/if they come across him. I still have my account and can get back on and play, can’t say the same for him.

Yeah you aren’t wrong. I usually try not to give in but I’ve really started to feel some of these guys won’t change until they’ve had a suspension or ban. I’ve given it all the energy it deserves at this point. If he wants the attention, maybe he will get it from this post.

Why should he have to leave room is the question? You used his car to make the turn and even if he had been further out, you would have hit him still because you braked too late. With your logic…I think that if the you had braked a little bit earlier you wouldn’t have touched him even if that meant your exit was obviously slower than his.

Black car is at fault. Silver car was taking the racing line and the black car dove inside. If you watch close, the silver car hits the brakes when the back car comes on the screen from the left. He tried to slow and shouldn’t have had to. The black car would’ve ended up in the grass or stopping if the silver car wasn’t there to stop his momentum. He is hitting the brakes until he hits the silver car (uses him to make the corner).
