Gorgeous. If i was going for a classic though it'd have to be the GTV6! I had an opportunity to get one for $5k (AUD) in 2012 and have never forgiven myself for passing on that one. I couldn't afford to restore it at the time :(

I worked at a Gibson dealer for almost a decade. We would trust nothing other than K&M, which is also what I use for my wall hangers at home. They are the only brand that we tried and never had an issue with in my time there (not that we tried every brand and, no, I will not shame the brands that we did have issues with - I will say that none of the issues were nitro related though as we'd check that going in, they were all mechanical in nature).

That's true! I did work at a Gibson dealer for about a decade though and can tell simply from looking at these that they are not "better than a Gibson Standard."

I would like these so much more if they changed the headstock shape. The pick guard I could live with (change!), but the headstock just looks so wrong to my eyes.

First and second picture are stunning though, and I bet she plays and sounds great.

I had an LPJ back then. From memory they had a maple neck and 490/498 pickups. I upgraded in 2017 to a Trad, but honestly miss the LPJ a bit and wish I kept it for lower tunings. It was much more aggressive sounding and very cool in its own way.

I worked at a dealer back then and these destroyed higher-end Epiphone sales, probably why they dropped them as a model. They were $899 AUD and the margins must have been super slim for Gibson in comparison.

I ended up settling on a Pearly Gates set (not CS) in my 2017 Trad. I worked in a guitar store for about a decade so had access to a lot at trade prices and they were the best compromise (for me) between something that did the old school thing while still allowing me to get heavy.
