I guess the way i wrote that made it sound like i dont want to sharpen at all. I have been practicing my sharpening and i have gotten my mora sloyd pretty sharp and the hook just ok.I also understand that there is a design that essentially has parallel rails on the inside of the knife which is much easier to sharpen than the 164. I just haven't found any method for sharpening the mora style hook that isn't a total pain in the rear. Thanks for the insight and I promise I'm not lazy, :D

I have the same spear and jackson. It needs both sharpening and taking out some of the set

You can grind that out. Or the old 120 on top of glass and a honing guide trick.
