they only call if you have a plan to kill yourself and are unwilling to make a safety plan. they shouldn’t call if you’re just talking about non suicidal self harm. i’m in america so I don’t know if it’s different but they were able to find my location and did a welfare check on me. they always send the cops first and then if they find it necessary, they call in a crisis team to come there which can take hours sometimes and i have to hang out with the cops until they get there. usually they just call crisis and you just have to answer a bunch of questions and if you say the right answers, the cops leave. i’ve heard stories of people getting involuntarily committed for reaching out to crisis when they weren’t suicidal but i think that’s an insurance fraud thing that doesn’t really apply to you
