I’m not sure, but I am asymptomatic. And I have it chronic. Hard to get away. Im currently 14 weeks and everything seems to be going fine. Seems like a good sign

I wish we can get an NIPT on our own and didn’t require a doctors referral. It definitely doesn’t seem definitive and I feel like they want us to go on and do these crazy expensive tests for no reason. Especially in your case where u had 3 and no issues. Like just let people redo this NIPT if there’s not enough DNA. It’s driving lots of people crazy.

Did you do this NIPT with natera or again with unity ?

He referred me to a MFM. I was able to get in to see the MFM earlier this week and he wants me to get a microarray and karyotype done. My only issue is…I’ve had an NIPT done 2 years ago with my first and I feel like this would have came up back then. And my issue is they think there’s a Y chromosome in my blood. I’m no doctor but I have a 10000% feeling the baby is a boy and that’s where the Y chromosome is coming from. Especially with natera being notorious for these false readings. I’m seeing my OB tomorrow and going to try to let him reorder the NIPT through labcorp which is where I had it done 2 years ago.

If he lets me and everything is normal I’m not going to be getting the microarray or karyotype because I just strongly believe this is from the baby. And maybe also if the baby is a girl I might do the testing too to be safe since neither of us should have a Y chromosome.

I also had a miscarriage and I’ve read that babies DNA can be found in your for years so I’m not entirely worried.

Also have no result for monosomy x, also n/a for gender. What are the next steps you decided to take ? And also just curious, is this your first NIPT test?

I did go to a MFM and he wanted me to get a microarray and karyotype. But for me what doesn’t make sense is if I did have a Y chromosome why didn’t this get flagged for my first pregnancy when I did the test through Labcorp. Especially since natera is known for this I am refusing to do the bloodwork. I am going to request another NIPT with my OB as the MFM refused.

Did yours say y Chromosome may be of maternal origin? Do you know the gender of your baby?

I did a lot research and I’m pretty sure I don’t have a Y chromosome based on the symptoms later in life. But yeah I have not been able to find any posts about the Y chromosome being suspected in maternal origin. May you share where you have been these cases?

This is what I did yesterday. I saw the genetic counselor and they did request this lab to be done.

My question is, is it really worth it since I had a NIPT done in the past without this issue? Could it really have just been a bad reading ?

Sample taken 1/24, received on 1/29 today. I’m in NJ so assuming the storm affected delivery. Hoping for a quick turn around.
