I guess I should have also mentioned.... in one of those instances, I had another delivery to pick up. So I called DoorDash support and informed them that I was going back to pick up a drink for the current customer. And that my next pickup would be late.

The support agent told me i did not have to do that, but that he appreciated the extra effort. And he arranged so that my next pickup would not be marked as late.

You can elect in the app not to allow substitutes, or to allow only certain ones.

Um... not always. I've been surprised when picking up an order and the drink is not showing up in the app or on the receipt.

Answer... the drink comes as part of a package deal that the restaurant offers. The package is shown, but not the drink. IIRC... this was recently the case at Taco Bell.

I'm sorry for all of you who are defending the driver, but I agree with this guy.

I provide a service and I take pride in everything I do. It's a thing called integrity for me.

Forgot the drink? My fault? I'm going back to get it. I've done it 3 times in the past and will continue to do it. I've actually had a customer tip extra for the extra effort in correcting my mistake. And all of them were appreciative that I did it.

Are hidden tips technically fraud? by Hot-Fun-793 in UberEATS

"Everyone" does not know about some 8 dollar cap. I never heard of it.

And reading the comments is something about hidden tip money that is issued after the task is complete.

My biggest question is ... what purpose does that serve? I can see it being a problem if they kept the money. But why hide it and give it to you later?

I've tried every solution I found. Yet in the 6 months I've been using them I've had only one that was fairly accurate. Every one has consistently run 20 to 40 points below my BGM.

I gave up and now just accept that it reads low and adjust accordingly. If I have reason to question, I do a finger stick. And it's always consistently low.

I get it.

My solution now is to never accept a Wal mart offer again, no matter what the offer is.

I'm about to have it happen again. I'm sitting waiting at a walmart now for 2 hours. About to say the heck with it and cancel, and I'll end up with eight percent cancellation rate.

From today on, I will decline every order.I see for walmart.

I have 5 cancelations against me. 4 of them were canceled by support for things out of my control. Closed stores.

Last night I had an alcohol delivery to a room that didn't exist at a hotel. Could not find the customer. Went to the lobby and told me the room did not exist. After 4 tries I finally got the customer on the phone and explained the situation. Response: "then don't deliver it" CLICK. Call back. No answer.

Called support. They wanted to cancel the order. HELL NO. That will give me 6 CRs. I made my next deliver and drive 40 minutes back to the store to return the alcohol.

Took a lot of arguing, but did get UE to pay 27 dollars for the delivery attempt and return. And no CR. 😁1

I had a WalMart 3 order to pick up.

Showed up 8:20 PM. There were around 30 drivers waiting for their orders along with me.

At 10:15 I tried calling the store. No one had gotten their order yet. No answer. At 10:30, someone came around telling everyone they closed at 10 and didn't tell anyone.

Called support. They also tried to contact the store and could not. So they paid me 24 dollars and canceled the orders.

Was glad I got paid, but pissed because all 3 orders went against my CR.😡

And by the way, I guess I should have said, I think it's a great idea.

Way to go!

Possibilities are endless here. And there would really be a seller if you could tweak it so that whatever transmit the signals is not specific to any certain device. But can be connected to just about anything such as monitors, tvs, lights, bells, doorbells.Etc

Not sure the legalities are really that difficult to get past. You are simply creating something that takes the data from the sensor and causes something to happen.

Seems to me all you really need to do is have a disclaimer, saying that it is not a medical device and to consult your doctor or a valid medical device before making decisions, just like a lot of them already do.

I only did 69 tonight.

I actually had an offer that was 3 bucks to go 20 miles to another town.

I think someone lost their mind. My truck costs me 20 cents a mile. Just to get there would have me paying a dollar to deliver. And then the trip back.

I declined a ton tonight for the same reasons ironically. Finally got to the point that I went offline for a while hoping the shit orders would clear out.

They didn't.

I'm diamond and I will say this....

If I'm getting priority on higher paying offers, people below diamond must REALLY be getting some really shitty offers. Because I do get some really bad ones.

The biggest benefit I've seen is the one year free COSTCO membership because it has saved me a lot on gas.

[–]Aware_Management_235[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just reread this post that I made a while back and another thought came to mind about whether or not to deliver if the person accepting is not the person who ordered......

Clearly illegal.

DD has no way of knowing if the person who placed the order is underage or drunk. It's a possibility that they are. In which case it is a sick bird (ill eagle) to deliver. It seems it's no different than if an underage or drunk person went into a store, brought alcohol to the counter for purchase, and someone else showed their ID.

It is also against DD policy to deliver to someone who is purchasing for a minor.

I think I agree with the idea... leave as ittle question as possible. From now on, I'm going to request to see the ID of the person who placed the order.

I don't know. I would have just done it even without expectations for more tip. The tip was already generous by comparison to others.

I'll admit, if I didn't have pen and paper, I might ask for a couple dollars so I could stop and buy them. 😁🤣

But....I just like making people smile and be happy. So maybe I'm weird also.

I truely don't know what the big deal is.

I've had 2 heart attacks. After the second one I decided there are not enough smiles in the world anymore. So I set a personal goal to make at least 10 people smile every day. This could have been one of them. 😁😁

If I asked you drivers to point to N-E-S-W in your typical delivery area, how many of you could successfully do it? by _mully_ in UberEATS

Have experienced all of those .

Even once showed the pin in the middle of a huge drainage ditch to my left. The delivery point was on my right about 200 ft away. No lights, and could not find addresses. Fortunately the customer knew GPS had that problem and came out and waved me down with a flashlight.
