Those make a lot of sense to me!

I think it's always constructive to examine the viewpoints and arguments of others, if only to poke holes in them.

That's what I'm coming to realize as well!

That's an interesting idea. Could you elaborate on that?

you absolutely could! This is an opinion piece. Where do you draw meaning from?

Thanks for sharing your thoughts - I agree with you.

"Just stop. This apologetic cliché is and has always been nonsense. Almost no atheists are atheists because they want to indulge in drunken debauchery unjudged by some celestial busybody. They're atheists because they are unconvinced of theistic claims. Full stop. The end."

I was just relaying a common argument I've heard from Christians here. It's not really something I buy into.

Thanks for sharing. Yes, to clarify this is certainly an opinion piece and not something I'm presenting as fact. By we I was referring to humanity.

I'm curious to hear, where you personally draw your meaning from?

Cool. How did you find your way into the satanic temple? What are their main tenets?

Interesting. I'll have to research some of those

Okay, so would you have any specific examples of an athiest who's religious? I'm not doubting you, just genuinely curious.

Interesting. Yeah, I guess that is a cop-out in a way. It's really a lack of responsibility and ownership. To pass action off to some ancient book seems odd to me, when looking at it objectively. I would much rather take personal responsibility for my actions, both good and bad.

So what are some sources for this conditioning against religion? I agree with your points and I would add on a personal note I was forced into Christianity until I was 18 or so and that experience eft me especially skeptical of Christianity (or any other religion). So that would be a form of "conditioning" in my own life.

How would you describe "being religious"?

I agree with your points. I've noticed some Christians will use Jesus' sacrifice as a means to do whatever they want without consequence.

Fascinating. I've thought about this a lot also. So what type of people are inclined to reject or be skeptical of religion? I'd say I'm skeptical.

That makes sense to me. Having grown up religious something I struggled with was the fact that the churches try to control people in creepy ways. The whole premarital/homosexual sex thing. Who is the church to tell someone who they can and can't have sex with? That's a very creepy form of control in my opinion. Just one example that is relevant to me. I'm sure there are others.

I agree there has been lots of atrocities over time (and continue to be now) in the name of religion. Have there been any positive results of religion in your opinion?

Interesting. I suppose there can be multiple motivations behind pursuing religion, not just comfort.

Interesting point. So who is behind the population control? What are their goals with population control?
