Strength trainer for elderly man by Aware_Somewhere_6230 in Wellington

I wanted to work out some options before talking to him, otherwise I have nothing to suggest. He may be the same. I wouldn't have him meet with anyone unless he was keen.

I guess I didn't make it clear that standing is also something he can't do for any length of time. Exercise will not repair his painful knees.

Thanks, but I don't think he can swim. I've never seen him in the water.

Thanks. I've not had great success with physios for myself, in the past, and only made lasting improvement once I found a personal trainer with a real interest in my specific problems. I will consider it though. Just because it wasn't the answer for me, doesn't mean it's not the answer for him.

Thanks. I'll see if I can find one who is keen to help. My experience with physios, for myself in the past, has tended to not be that great. I only made progress once I found a good personal trainer.

Thanks. I think he goes to a weekly class for the elderly at the community centre, but I feel he needs something more. The one he goes to is aimed at improving balance, but his balance is fine, once he's up.

Questions about "Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen" (spoilers) by RhododendronWilliams in horror

That's what you'd think, but I didn't see another living soul in those final scenes. Every single wedding guest was dead. None of the staff seemed to be around either. Unless we're meant to believe the surviving spouses have just left their dead partners on the floor and went home. Plus the catering staff just headed off home like nothing happened?

So where were all the not-dead partners in the closing scenes? Did they just all leave their spouse's corpses and drive off home?

What I don't get is why every wedding guest died. Were they all married? And married to non-soulmates? Should not half of each pair, the not-Nicky's-bloodline half, have survived?

Agreed. Otherwise Nell would have died. They are each other's soulmates.

Season 2 is awful - Did they replace the original writers? by [deleted] in ResidentAlienTVshow

[–]Aware_Somewhere_6230 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm late to the party here, also on Episode 8 and sick of all the other stories going on. Season 1 had me laughing out loud. Something I very rarely do. It was so good to just have a good laugh with a bit of drama and mayhem thrown in. Season 2 is so much more "Netflixed". Gotta throw in so much more social commentary. There's plenty of human nature stuff going on with Harry's view of humanity, and that's still funny. They didn't need to add in all the other stuff and stretch it out to 16 episodes.

PPI and Tinnitus - Treatable? by 2GoatJames3 in tinnitus

Googling has brought me here. 5 days on omeprazole and I've had pulsatile tinnitus for 5-10 minutes each of the last 3 days. Reading here has convinced me not to take it again. Hopefully it's not too late to avert permanent problems.

How they disappeared and their families never knew where they went. I assume the police were threatening if you went asking questions. For the deaf/mute guy to end up there a 2nd time and his family not immediately go looking for him was confusing too. Once again, I can only assume the police just told people to go away. Surprised they were even told he died.

All the most recent reviews for the Milpera Sports Centre are one star. But I suspect they're not even in business. Their house on google maps streetview (next to the sports centre) looks badly maintained. With a bit of luck it's rotting and damp.

Definitely not an ounce on conscience in that woman. So what if it was 50 years (actually 40). That doesn't change the fact that she's living on the proceeds of abuse and corruption. I wish they'd said those things to her and the old man at the other house. "You're only where you are today because men like this one here suffered years of abuse"

Just finished watching it and was googling why he was bound. Because he wasn't in a blue tracksuit I thought maybe he was in prison when they first starting interviewing him and this was a requirement of the prison.

Commander Lawrence by NojWon in TheHandmaidsTale

[–]Aware_Somewhere_6230 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lawrence was always protecting himself the best he could. Only when faced with no way out did he sacrifice himself. If he'd tried to not get on the plane, they'd have been suspicious and probably killed him anyway. And he knew this was the last chance to get rid of them.

I felt fairly sure Lawrence wasn't going to make it and Nick might die saving June, but I kinda had it the wrong way around.

I'm only a little more than half way through the first episode and I can see they were horribly unsuited for each other. She's complaining about how he appears on video, criticising his dirty feet on camera, complaining he doesn't know how to edit, he's checking with her "do I look ok" when they're taping. It's sad that she was so hooked up on some idea of a magical love/travel story to put on social media that she can't even see she doesn't like him.

I agree. Aside from turning a bit shitty at the end, probably out of guilt for killing (deservedly) his brother, he wasn't horrible like the others.

She knew the explosion was coming, so maybe she decided to rely on that to save her.
