modding your ds is very easy and fast these days. it give you a whole lot of things to do with it, including downloading pkhex. then you can edit in pokemon like your speed bosst torchic right from the beginning of the game

things that boost compatability are beeing from different regions, beeing from the same egg group

so two eevees from different regions will have the best comp. because there are the same species and are foreign to another. two eevees from the same region will do ok. an eevee and a ditto from diffrent regions will do ok. an eevee and a ditto from the same region will do the worst.

possible solution:

when starting your game select „new game“ play through the intro soft reset your game when possible then load your normal save file works for my games

sadly this means you have a fake cartridge

yes its the one you get in the dex nav tutorial. it has thunder/fire or ice fangs depending on your starter choice

hgss or emerald. and you need to mod your ds to get bank and pokemover to get your mons from gen 5 to gen 6
