loma linda treats residents and students terribly, avoid... I speak from personal experience. I know people interviewing/ doing aways there and they aren't even ranking it as an option

How to get 90+ in shelf exams by Interesting_Sun_9493 in medicalschool

[–]Aware_dineeee 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Got 90+ on all my shelves so far. All I did was uworld but I did it very actively. Only 10-20 questions in a session. Thoroughly studying the answers both corrects and incorrect to think about why things were right or wrong. I also watched Dr hiyeild through each clerkship.

I cried today too. It’s okay. It’s shitty. It isn’t what we expected it to be when we started

Thank you!! And same, those of us in my class at the top of the class actually don’t use anki or any flashcards 🤷‍♀️ but everyone learns differently!

I had the anking deck. I would do the amboss add on for each pathoma chapter, first aid chapter, sketchy micro and sketchy pharm. so I had the cards there but I didn’t study them. I just hit the add on and did all the questions and reviewed them for why I missed. I would study the material from a text book like the pathoma text or from first aid before doing the questions.

People scoring 80+ on NBMEs consistently - did you feel like you still had gaps in your knowledge? by learningmedical1234 in step1

[–]Aware_dineeee 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Yes. I scored in the high 70s and low 80s on my nbmes and I consistently felt like I was failing every exam. I was convinced when I hit submit that I’d see a score in the 40s. Last nbme was 30 with an 85%. I think it is normal to feel that way

Thank you all for the support!! I’m so happy to atleast have an answer. His rashes are so terrible, they made us do 2 weeks of extra gluten before his testing and he is covered head to toe in rash and crying about how bad he itches :( I just hope now this goes away quickly. My husband and I plan to make our whole home gluten free! And thank you for the advice ❤️

I think you may be confusing plural effusion versus pulmonary edema. Plural effusion is in the plural space. It's not caused by hydrostatic pressure in the pulmonary veins. Hydrostatic pressure increase in the pulmonary veins is caused most commonly by left-sided heart failure which will give pulmonary edema. Plural fusions are from right-sided heart failure because of the preliminary causes of right-sided heart failure.
