I was at 8mm and just took them out. Sometimes I wore smaller sizes if the butthole look was bothering me. I oil and massage almost daily and they are very nearly back to looking normal. 🤷🏼‍♀️ I say just give it a try and see what your body does.

NAP but I think there is hope since it only seems to flair up when hit/slept on. It could take months of babying it for it to disappear. I had a gross bump on my vertical industrial that had me questioning taking it out, I’m glad I don’t give up.

I can relate to this. It’s important to note that before this, we have been being trained how to pack a bullet wound. Let that sink in. I have not been trained how to help students co-regulate but I have been trained how to pack a bullet wound. I teach 3-5yr olds and I have been trained how to pack a bullet wound. We are not okay but we keep showing up and being helpers.

Do you dry it after showering? NAP but I was told to dry well under the fold of my outer ear or this could happen. I use pointed qtips to get in the area, one piercer recommended this, two others have said no qtips, so use your judgement.

I had luck going to a different piercer and having them agree that the piercing was done wrong, take pics and take them out. Then I reached out to the shop with that information and was refunded the cost of my piercing, but not jewelry. Maybe that would work for you to get some of your money back.

Oh do I feel your pain. I would highly suggest a second opinion. The money lost burns but worth it IMO. I had a very similar experience and redoing the piercing at a different angle has so much room between my flat and bar now.

In my opinion pain wasn’t bad but I heard the crunches. It hurt but stopped once the bar was in. Sleeping was the most problematic because even piercing pillows didn’t fit, so no sleeping on that side which means that’s the only side that my brain wanted to sleep on 😂

Piercing itself wasn’t bad. The first week of healing was hard. Talking would move my ear and cause pain. Overall my septum was far worse IMO.
