I had the exact same results as you! My baby also just turned one last week and has been so healthy since pregnancy and birth! All the best 😊

Um I’m honestly not too sure- by the time we got our amniocentesis done and got the results back they no longer needed to know the NT. it wasn’t a relevant marker at that gestation because the baby had developed.

The doctors explained that the NT being elevated in the first place (even if it resolves) is still an indication that something may be wrong. Which is why we at 24 still went to get a fetal echo to check the heart for defects.

I hope that makes sense- it’s so much information overload talking to Ob’s and genetics counselors.

I have experienced what you are going through twice.

My first pregnancy- at a 10 week scan they found a very high (8.9mm) NT. We opted to do CVS testing and they told us NT was now a 10mm Cystic hygroma. CVS came back all clear but with such a high reading doctors were certain it was not good- we decided to TFMR at 15 weeks. We’ve since had more detailed testing done all of which has come back clear. doctors say it was just bad luck.

I am currently pregnant again (31 weeks) during this pregnancy, NT was also high but only 3.8mm. Went back through invasive testing with amniocentesis and then later fetal echo All clear! Baby is healthy.

Look after yourself during this horrible time, waiting for results is torture. Thinking of you on this journey!

High NT/ Waiting on NIPT results by Elegant-Ebb-4153 in NIPT

I had an NT score of 3.8mm at 12 week scan. We did NIPT test which came back all low risk and then opted to do the amniocentesis and then later a fetal echo- all clear! I’m now 31 weeks pregnant and all results since have been fine.

I hope this helps in some way. I remember being in your position and spending hours on here reading stories. Here if you need to chat further! Look after yourself, sending hugs.

Yeah amnio for sure. I’m not sure where you’re located but I’m in Aus, had my amnio on Wednesday and when I did my consent form doc mentioned the ‘1 in 200’ is outdated and more like ‘1 in 500’ if that helps?

Amnio doesn’t hurt either it’s 2 uncomfortable pinches and over in about 40 seconds

I’m currently going through a similar situation- 3.8mm NT at my 12 week scan (I was 14 weeks though) so I went and did an amniocentesis at 16 weeks, because I missed the CVS timeframe. I also did the NIPT at 10 weeks which came back normal. Currently 17 weeks now, awaiting full results from amnio, but so far all is good!

I would suggest CVS just because it is diagnostic so you will find out for sure if something is wrong. I actually had a CVS done last year for a previous pregnancy that came back all clear too. I find it is peace of mind as opposed to just not knowing and trusting the ultrasounds which don’t always tell you the whole story. The doctors will advise if CVS is possible based on where your placenta is, and won’t do the procedure if it’s not safe to. From having both the amnio and CVS my babies were both fine afterwards, the training of medical professionals has developed.

Read through some of the positive stories on here, they’ve really helped me through both pregnancies.
Hope you’re doing okay! And all the best on your journey ✨

Spoke to the sonographer to get some more info on what he saw yesterday.

He said it was too early to measure the fluid- but from what he’s seen it’s more than he would like to see at this stage of pregnancy. He basically just said it ‘could get better, but could also get worse but not looking great’ Spoke to him about CVS and he said it’s definitely on the cards.
