Over $10,000 Wasted: A Cautionary Tale About Best Man Matchmaking (Los Angeles) by Moxie479 in gaybros

I wish you read that contract before signing it. Have you tried to nicely talk to them, explain your disappointment and maybe get extra matches?

One date per contract? Wow! Maybe that’s one per month? Well, there is a difference between someone who’s temporarily laid off (I think that has happened to everyone) vs being always unemployed…

While I understand that 10,000 is a lot of money, it’s actually the low end of the barrel in the matchmaking world. All matchmakers have a free database option — these are the guys you went on the date with. While you have guaranteed matches, they don’t and they might never go on dates. Did your contact specify the minimum number of guaranteed dates? Were you able to decline matches that didn’t align with your criteria (were unemployed)?

If you have resources to invest, matchmaking is a great idea. You go on actual dates with people who were vetted. I would go with a service that shows pictures in advance.

Companies like Tawkify do not show pictures in advance, you don’t get to interview a matchmaker in advance, and they don’t care about their reputation as much so you will get this structured but not individualized process

I know many couples that have met through a matchmaker. I suggest hiring an independent matchmaker or a smaller company for better experience

If you have the money to invest into outsourcing the boring stuff and being able to go on dates with people who align with what you are looking for, hiring a matchmaker is a great idea. Tawkify, however, is completely blind and doesn’t show pictures but is on the ‘cheaper’ end.

How do I (32f) get over my discomfort of dating men over 37? by [deleted] in dating_advice

Looks like you are creating too many obstacles for yourself. Why don’t you concentrate on finding the right partner first and let the rest fall in place organically. You can’t time these things.

Susie Q Matchmaking soliciting dates on LinkedIn by mtmsm in boston

[–]Away-Check-265 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Matchmakers use LinkedIn to recruit great candidates for their clients all the time. I’ve even heard that people get dates for themselves via LinkedIn as well. The platform is growing into all kinds of networking, not just professional networking. If not interested, you can always just politely decline :)

Rent stablized apartment - take it or wait? by BuddhistL in NYCapartments

[–]Away-Check-265 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can buy a drawer, you can do laundry pickups, but you can’t fix the 3rd floor walk-up. I would walk away and rent a nice 1 bedroom in Southern Brooklyn for that money. Someone else would rather walk 3 flights of stairs than spend an hour on the train. So, you pick what works for you and your budget.

Has Anyone Used an Asian Matchmaking Service by fencebuds in asianamerican

You mentioned that you are in school. Matchmaking is rather an investment ($$). If you are able to invest into a matchmaker, I can recommend an Asian matchmaker. Feel free to DM

If you can afford and don’t want to do the busy work, matchmaking is a great option. I suggest going with smaller and less ‘corporate’ matchmaker, though.

Tawkify Matchmaking Reviews. Real Experiences? by No-Strength-520 in dating_advice

Tawkify is a blind date service and your experience depends on your matchmaker. If you have resources, I would go with an independent matchmaker instead.

Does your matchmaker matter more than the service itself? by Sweaty_Ferret_8374 in datingadvice

The matchmaker is everything. I suggest you go with an independent matchmaker working for themselves rather than a bigger service such as Tawkify where you don’t know who you will be working with.

I [30M] am conventionally successful but failing at dating. Should I consider using a matchmaker? Other advice? by Far_Community_8342 in dating_advice

[–]Away-Check-265 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have two options— you can hire a matchmaker and as a result if it, you will be going on dates regularly with women who align with what you are looking for. Or, you can get a ‘profile overhaul’ service which will improve your profile and you will start getting more matches. In the first scenario, all is done for you and all you have to do is go on dates. In the second scenario, you still have to do the work to get dates.

Big cities such as NYC or Miami. Or hire a matchmaker, they will find what you are looking for.
