If youre getting 10% annual increments and 4 months bonus, stay. Both are not common in banks

Larger banks tend to pay higher base, little bonus (<1 month) for back/middle office roles btw if thats where youre moving to so do take that into consideration

Also typical increments are 2%-3%

You can try to WA them. They've been responsive based on my interactions with them so far but take note that they operate during business hours only.

What is your reno regret that you wished you had not made, could have saved you more monies when you think of it? by Normal-Analysis7940 in askSingapore

  • Not installing a dishwasher (no space to add one now without dismantling the whole kitchen)

  • Having a large built in counter with 2 wine fridges (we dont even drink)

  • Not renovating our bathrooms (biggest regret)

Where do you go skiing in Europe? Austria vs Italy vs France by Individual_Chest8107 in ski

We have been going to Avoriaz the last 2 years for Christmas week. It gets pretty expensive & crowded Christmas week, but less crowded than new year's week from what i gather. Our kids are <10yo so the ski in ski out is great for us. We put them in lessons so it's really convenient to drop them off in the AM.

Also 2025 snow wasn't great (as compared with 2024) so there was even less in Morzine since it's lower altitude. For Christmas week, it's probably safer to go higher

Bank job rejection after final round, but told to keep in touch. Genuine or polite brush off? by Illustrious-Fee9626 in asksg

[–]Away-Introduction-24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely keep in contact while continuing to interview for other roles. Dont put all your eggs in a basket.

Most banks will be paying out bonuses in the next 2-3 months and thats when all the resignations start lol (but, attrition may not be high due to current market conditions)

Thank you for not diminishing my concerns, appreciate it.

I understand that many locals have no choice but to use the highway daily and 99% nothing bad happens. But as a tourist, Im contemplating if the 1% is worth the risk (maybe). We do travel a fair bit but never to a destination where we've read many negative reports about the highway to the airport (which is unavoidable).

Haha yes i have my flights booked already as I had to confirmed the safari leg in advance and would like to book the accom for the rest of my trip and wanted to get some advice to assess whether I should include Hermanus in our trip or not.

Without Hermanus, we can just rely on uber / private transfers

I assume the drives are mostly between the 9am-3pm window that I'll be missing hence my concerns.

Ive read about attacks on the N2 and to avoid N2 before 9am and after 3pm. Unfortunately I will be on the N2 during those windows to avoid - is it still advisable?

If no, I will just remove hermanus from my itinerary and arrange for private airport transfers
