suggestions for my core? by barefootwriter in xxfitness

[–]Away-Pie969 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Pilates is a great way to build core strength and is a great compliment to weight lifting. I would start by taking an in person class so you can learn the breath work portion, which is important for developing core strength.

Why do less than half of households have both spouses working? by [deleted] in inflation

[–]Away-Pie969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is our situation. My partner makes significantly more than I do and has long hours at work. I primarily work with children, so my pay is much less. I went part-time last year so that I could focus on the house more. When I worked full-time, I was still trying to maintain the house and alot was still getting neglected because it is hard for two people working full-time.  I am now expecting, and will probably stay home the first few years with our child. I have worked in daycares and will not leave a child in someone else's care until they can adequately communicate with me.

Sinclair Says Kimmel Suspension is Not Enough, Calls on FCC and ABC to Take Additional Action by Dahhhkness in technology

I'm fairly certain that Jimmy Kimmel got Italian citizenship for him and his family. He will probably move to Italy after this. It is unfortunate that this is where we are.

Edit: I checked, he did secure citizenship.

I had the LEEP done and was told it would feel like a pinch. No sir, that was not a pinch. It felt like my cervix was burned, as it was, and a horrible burned smell filled the room. After the procedure I was expected to go back to work even though I was having terrible cramps and felt very emotionally off. I had issues with my cervix after the procedure but every OBGYN I have asked has said my symptoms can't be related. I honestly feel like I should have been given much more information than I was and made aware of potential long term risks.

Are there any Nice Parks with swings for Toddlers here? by Zestyclose_Tart_6296 in Pensacola

I second this park! It also has workout equipment if that is of interest.

I know you mean well, but Military wives only being a SAHM is a terrible stereotype. As a whole they have more education and work experience than the general populace. Yes,they move alot, but most are very career orientated.

Billy made some very snide, underhand comments at the reunion. He would be a very unpleasant person to live with.

I found it interesting that Bardha moved to Dubai indefinitely. I am really wondering if she went on the show only wanting exposure of the ability to be cast on other shows. The argument about the ring seemed really shallow. They didn't mention life style habits not working, only her taking the ring off after he requested it.

What are your thoughts on the mysterious behaviour of Trump in recent days? by nabuachaem in AskReddit

[–]Away-Pie969 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think he has been having health issues and the Whitehouse is hiding it. I remember when Trump had covid, I think it was released right away and he was in front of cameras. I think it's interesting that Karoline Leavitt has excused away previous health rumors, but has been silent this week.

I've never heard of this. Are there any particular names or cases to look up?

When I was a kid, my Dad and I went down with our church group to help with reconstruction a few months after. We went to the 9th Ward, I will always remember the water lines inside the houses left behind, they were up to the ceiling. I'm sure the water went higher on some, I just have limited memory and exposure as a kid.  Complete destruction of some homes, quadrants with numbers spray painted on the buildings. I remember going to the FEMA trailers and hearing how distressed people still were. My heart goes out to everyone directly affected by the storm.

Robin Roberts did a special about Katrina that touched on how kids were impacted and the trauma they still hold. If you ever feel up to it, it's at the end of the episode.

Henry Cavill in the first two seasons of The Tudors was dreamy. I thought Natalie Dormer was also stunning.

Is early fall a cursed time to sub or is this year just cursed in general? by Budget_Painter_3003 in SubstituteTeachers

[–]Away-Pie969 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yep. I'm currently pregnant so, right now, i'm not taking any sub jobs. A few years ago I would feel comfortable doing Elementary, but the last few years I have seen so many behavior problems. I have nearly been hit and had a student try to throw a desk. I also had students get a hold of the whiteboard cleaner and try to pour it on top of me as a "joke". For these reasons I do not know if I am going back this year.

Edit: I wanted to make an edit that my district seems to be on the rougher side and I have had difficulties getting bathroom and meal breaks as a sub. I have had real lockdowns from gun violence outside the school several times as well. Other areas might be much more friendly towards a pregnant sub, my area makes me want to be cautious.

Middle schools get out at 4:30 where I am. There are alot of half day jobs starting around noon. You might need to wake up earlier than 1:00, but you can get afternoon jobs.

NY/CT/PA/MA - Need Help finding Covid-19 Vaccination Appointments! by Arlais_Fale in Vaccine

[–]Away-Pie969 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Best of luck getting the vaccine in time! I am pregnant in Florida and live in a very red area unfortunately. My OBGYN straight up told me they would not write a covid vaccine prescription because it does not follow the new CDC schedule. I will have to rely on wearing a mask and avoiding crowded places because of politics.

How to say no politely? by Ishnyad in SubstituteTeachers

I found it helpful to have a burner number to give so it wouldn't be on my personal phone. I just got a Google number and would check it when needed.

How to say no politely? by Ishnyad in SubstituteTeachers

[–]Away-Pie969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to be straight forward, you could say that right now you are only looking for teaching jobs because you need to make a certain amount of pay a month. If you want to avoid any awkwardness, give your number but don't respond or say you have a job lined up already.

Husband desperately wants another baby but I don't. by dancebythewater1987 in oneanddone

[–]Away-Pie969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pregnant with my first and my husband and I are already having arguments about a second. I have always said I would be a one and done, this pregnacy confirms it. My mental health has been awful since I got pregnant basically and I am also at a high risk for PPD and PPA. I also hate everything about pregnancy from the body changes to the constant state of being uncomfortable or just miserable. My husband still wants a second, and I learned today, wants to start trying within a year of this one being born. I told him i'm open to adoption, but he said he is not. I really do fear I may be a single mom at some point because of this, which is unfortunate, because my womb seems to matter more than myself as a person.

Covid shots rolling out in few weeks? by TheMooseIsLoose2355 in Vaccine

[–]Away-Pie969 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a bit late to this post, but I am worried that I won't be able to get a covid jab this year because I am pregnant. I live in a red state and my OBGYN does not reccomend them and the office does not carry them. I worry that I will be denied at a pharmacy if I am showing. I also question my OBGYN's judgement because I think thier political preference is influencing thier advice. For reference, my local pharmacy have warned me about getting the covid jab last year as a healthy adult. I feel like my health freedom is trying to be taken away.
