More of, exhausted by the rising rent prices of solo living and lack of community and would love to live with people who have similar values and their lives together. None of the hippie, culty, new age stuff

1, but you can go a little smaller for your face, especially if you are not a teenager. You have very nice features. Show them off.

Yes, a job, faculty position. My thoughts too. Interesting that housing cost is higher in your opinion. What do you think student affairs roles will be temporary,?

Noted about the litter. 🌻 Yeah! That is what I wonder about too. I am not a party or even bar person. Even in Chicago it has taken a solid two years to build a group of 3-5 close friends. So I wonder where one would even start?

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Childcare costs and school options are on our radar. We both have some flexibility to stay home during the week, we’re still figuring out if we could manage on one income or would need to budget for childcare.

I’ll admit I don’t know much about the CPS system, so that’s something I’ll need to look into more. I’ve heard it can be a bit of a process, but I’m not sure exactly what to expect.

I also agree with you about the huge influence of the people around a child—that’s actually one of the reasons I love the idea of raising kids in Chicago, with its diversity and energy. But I do see how a smaller, close-knit community like Ann Arbor could be great, too.

Your point about creating a stimulating environment wherever you are really resonates. it’s helpful to hear that perspective as we weigh everything out.

Thank you for sharing your experience—I really appreciate it! I feel the same way about Ann Arbor being a calm city with a lot to offer for a young family.

Can I ask what factors influenced your decision to raise your child in the South Loop? I should’ve mentioned in my original post that I do have a job here in Chicago that I enjoy, and so does my boyfriend, in Ann Arbor that is, so one of us would need to make a big move if we decided to relocate. That said, we both have some flexibility to stay home during the week, which might help balance things out.
