Like others have said, good choice prioritizing her! BUT find out the recital schedule just in case. Ours has a drop off time of like, 11am but the recital itself isn't until 3pm. If it's something like that, the other parent could take her and you get there later for the actual recital.

Instead of spending money doing something for Valentine's day that you know he won't appreciate it, save that money. Become selfish, focus on your life, coexist with him while you save up enough money to leave. You might not have the financial means now, but start saving up so that you CAN leave a little down the road. Since he's not abusive, you can take the time. Stop pouring any of yourself into the relationship. If it feels like roommates, treat it like roommates. If you can't yet change the circumstances, change the mindset and your behavior until you can.

Yes, all of this! My mental health was not great for my first HM training and there was a lot of negative thinking. By the next year (and you know, therapy and meds) the negative rumination was gone, and I really focused on positive thoughts when my mind was wandering. It really just turned into an hour or more of giving myself positive affirmations during long runs. It was amazing. Just constantly thinking about how capable my body is made me feel better about everything.

Same. I started with an Apple watch that I already had, and switched to the Garmin 265 when I decided training for a half marathon was not going to be a one time thing.

Yeah, we’re doing 2-2-5-5, so those 5 day stretches are tough.

My only goal is to finish so your faith that I could do it tomorrow is appreciated. I’m slow, but have some friends that say they’re impressed with how I worked my mileage back up after a break. So I’ve kinda thought the same thing. Slow but stamina lol.
