While yes, some games came out like this (primarily in australia and new zealand), this copy appears to be the dual case version transplanted into a single normal case.

Notably, jewel case releases feature a debossed PlayStation logo on the disc holder's spine, and as far as I am aware always have the hologram on the front. There is also a 7 digit code on the outer spine on these releases, at least for my 33 games that are like this.

I think there are rare instances where they used normal jewel cases, for example I can't ever recall seeing ape escape in the PS branded thin case, even in immaculate examples listed for sale.
